Anyway, I heard about a movie called “Let The Right One In” but its not playing anywhere near where I live. Has anyone seen it?
My friends saw it and said it kicked butt. Great movie. I heard their gonna make an American version and probably ruin it.
Anyone see The Wrestler? I heard it’s supposed to be good.
I’m sure this movie has been mentioned before, but I just finished watching The Green Mile for the first time. friggin amazing movie. Not only is Michael Clark Duncan’s performance amazing, I kept catching myself thinking “good god hes gigantic”. So yeah, I definitley reccomend it if you want a tear-jerker.
The Ref- I had my yearly Christmas ritual of watching this last night. No real weak links in regards to acting, and a relatively original story. Kevin Spacey and Judy Davis don’t have a ton of chemistry by themselves, but Denis Leary helped make it work.
The police Lieutenant had the best line of the movie: “the only time you people call is when some kid is playing a practical joke, or your faggot dogs start humping each other without permission.”
Forbidden Kingdom - Not bad I guess. I would of preferred they didn’t have some shit acting dopey ass looking kid as the main character alongside jet li and jackie chan but overall it was pretty much what I was expecting.
i didnt watch 100% of it, but i watched most of it. it was cool. there was a ton of tits and a monkey. Jasmine St Claire is in it and theres a cool scene with a certain Captain Bluebush who has huge tits. theres even a scene where these girls do a “post-modern play” with no shirt and just jump.

It was ok. It works as a “family movie”. It followed the same formula as the others so it isn’t like they broke any new ground…and they changed the actress who plays his wife.
Christmas Vacation - a tradition around the rainjack house. The only thing that could possibly make the movie hit closer to home would be to have Robert Earl Keene singing “Merry Christmas to the Family” throughout the entire movie.

I saw Frost/Nixon two days ago. Excellent movie. Frank Langella was incredible as Nixon. Uncanny. He should win an award.
I think he goes over the top with his “Nixon voice”. But I have only the trailers, and the commercials to go on as I really have no desire to relive the 70’s.

He does over do it a bit with his Nixon voice, but it’s just GREAT acting.
I wanted to see this movie because I think Nixon was one of the greatest men to ever walk the Earth, and I LOVE these Hollywood hit pieces on him. They are dripping with absolute hate. The man has been dead for 15 years, but they seem to have a hard on for digging up his corpse every so often and kicking it around.
However, I forgot about all of that after seeing Langella “do” Nixon. You could tell that he really got into it. And there was this whiny little “60,000 dead” twerp that makes you want to punch him in the face. God I hated that little shit.
I wasnt’ alive during the 70s, but in my opinion this movie doesn’t “relive” that time, the theme seems to be this whole Frost vs Nixon thing, and of course Hollywood reminding everyone that it was them that “finally got Nixon.”
I don’t want to turn this into a political discussion - but the Frost interviews were HUGE back in the day. Hell, I think I was like 10 - 12 at the time, and the Frost interviews - along with the “Watergate hearings” totally fucked up the afternoon TV programming for all school kids.
The only thing Nixon did wrong was get caught.
FDR did shit that was just as bad or worse, and the fucking left still can’t get his withered up nut sack out of their mouth.
For Christmas:
Die Hard
A Christmas Story
The Grinch - cartoon and “live”
(for some reason I never watched Christmas Vacation)
Hancock - good movie; I didn’t expect where it went
Be Kind Rewind - eh, the parts of when they are recording their own version of the movie is funny. Everything else is eh.
Watched these with my 6 year old, his first time ever so that was cool
Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
I watched “Surfer, Dude” this morning upon waking up… it was a perfect morning movie for me. Very warm and relaxing when the weather outside is cold and unwelcoming. It brought balance and comfort, dreams of another place and time…
