Movies that Actually Scare You

heh, you know, just as you mention that it occurs to me that what would’ve also been great is if she tried to hide under the quilt at some point when hearing the noises! Don’t know about you but when I was a kid - what I couldn’t see, couldn’t see me!

lol

Y’know, that’s the one thing I kept thinking!

By the way, I first saw it with the (SPOILER) ending where she kills Micah downstairs, then comes upstairs with the knife in hand and just sits by the bed for a day and a half until the police break in and kill her. I thought this ending was far superior to the stupid demon face at the end. But I see how the face ending was better to accommodate a sequel… or prequel or whatever.

One scene does not make amovie, and while an awesome scene, movie is still pure shit besides the boobs[/quote]

lol! Boobs? I missed that I think, unless you’re referring to her boobs in general?

I wouldn’t put this film anywhere near pure shit. I’ve seen pure shit films and Para Activity outclasses them easily. Pure shit is like the worst of the worst. The bottom of the barrel. It’s underneath the carpet where all Uwe Boll’s efforts should be swept. =P

So a Nic Cage film basically.

Exorcism of emily Rose: the crab walk backwards down the stiars among other scenes freaked me out
The Exorcist (original)no explaination needed
The Gurdge

Thanks for the answers, I actually have some respect for Para Activity now.

Also, there is a huge lack of K or J-horror in this thread, I thought Red Shoes (Korean film, 2005), was really good, it gets slightly confusing but I thought it was well done. The K-horror Cinderella was even more messed up.

Now as far as scenes that messed with me…

SPOILER ALERT

The end of Rec where they go into the attic or whatever that was and discover what is pretty much a crazed adult Alma from F.E.A.R. 2 was pretty bad, but the scene where the guy discovers what is in the bag in Audition and the feeding scene made me lose my shit.

The Strangers

That absolute randomness, cruelty, and possibility of the entire movie completely messed with my head to this day…Wanton/random violence always scares me.

Good Call. Everytime I’m home from school, a bunch of us get together and watch this movie at like 3 in the morning, and it never gets un-fucked up

The ending, where Liv Tyler’s character askes why they did this, and they just say ‘because you were home’. That gets me everytime… makes me feel like this is COMPLETELY possible, and could happen at ANY time…

ending was awful and some parts stupid, but overall yes, some rather scary scenes in that movie
