Hey all I saw the morning Meltdown article and thought how about using a Swiss ball for a lot of the body weight movements so what are peoples thoughts? If Mr. Alessi could answer that would be even better. thanks all
Go for it.
There are plenty of interesting exercise books and stuff on the web. Pick a set of exercises (4-6) that tax all major muscles in your body.
Make sure your choice of exercises allow for you to work close to 60-80% RM max, don’t choose an exercise that can bang or 40 reps, choose an exercise that you max 15 reps and do 8-12 reps.
Superset the exercises.
2 sets and build on that.
Consistency is the most important thing, its not easy to drag yourself up 3-5 times week, variety is key that is why I recommend you flip through some of the available books for some interesting challenging exercises that you can rotate.
well im wondering if u can do body weight movements on the swiss ball for a morning fat burning …
Yes, of course you can. My interpretation of the Morning meltdown, this is Alessi’s using his Meltdown principles applied to bodyweight(bw) only exercises for convenience factor for those that live a hectic lifestyle and can’t get to the gym regularly. Alternatively the morning meltdown can also be applied to those trying to maximize repartitioning in search for the golden goose - simultaneously losing fat and building muscle.
Will swiss ball BW work as BW Morning Meltdown?
yes.
Will it work better than Morning Meltdown?
Yes, possibly with the proper prescription of exercises, but the beauty of Morning Meltdown as written is that it is travel friendly, swiss balls, aren’t.
Is either option better than doing nothing?
To burn more calories (and hence) fat, definitely.
Is either option a great addition to current gym program?
In most cases yes, maybe not when bulking using the “damn the fat” methodology, but attempting recomposition, morning work would definitely help.
Forgive my ignorance, but where is this article, or are you talking about the original Meltdown article?
