You posted the article as evidence increased profit margins are a driver of inflation. The article directly contradicts this position. Everything else is irrelevant. No one was talking about controlling risings costs with price controls.

Huh? So, prices go up, production increases, then you expect prices to go back down? “I increased production due to the signals prices sent, but now I’m gonna drop my prices for no reason.”
Under normal circumstances, yes. However if you have companies raising their prices and using inflation as an excuse well then… If there was only 1 car for sale, would the price be high or low? If production of cars increased would the price go down, stay the same or go up? What happened in Zimbabwe with food production? Then what happened with prices?
