Modern Monetary Theory: A Primer

No, we’re just going to devalue the dollar until another currency becomes the global reserve currency, which is exactly what you obviously want.

If it makes sleep better at night then sure “the corporations” are 100% at fault. It is not at all the fault of the elected officials accepting the bribes. They are absolved of all responsibility.

And you don’t understand economics at all.

Cool story, Zep.

Nothing like getting poorer through no fault of our own.

Explain how this would work in reality. Not in the alternate dimension in which you live. Give explicit ways in which to maximize production that doesn’t strip natural resources at a rate well beyond what is needed (not to mention the current production of goods is already too high to sustain those resources. Look how much food get thrown out by grocery stores every year).

Have you ever tried to “maximize production” of any real good in any capacity? Why would any company do that if they do not have the contract to produce that number of goods? Oh and the MMT bullshit of having the government make up the contracts to buy widgets they don’t need has the same effect on inflation of just giving people money - because that’s what it is - supply without demand.
What should we do with all that extra shit we “maximizing” just for the hell of it?

It’s okay because the entire economy didn’t collapse so it’s fine.

He can’t. He’ll just say you’re dumb and avoid the question like he avoids being a productive member of society.

And there you go being a dick again.

And what were the causes of inflation? Money printer going brrrrr… What an ignoramus!

America will still be able to function w/o their currency being the reserve currency.

Never said that but unlike you, who worship capitalism, I recognize where the problem begins.

More than you.

Nice refutation.

No, you don’t. The problem isn’t corporations or politicians. It’s innate human greed. We all have it.

It’s hard to believe you’re an adult let alone closing in on 60.

Ya, it was all just a coincidence that we printed trillions of dollars and then had the worst period of inflation in 75 years. Weird timing.

Absolutely no one has said otherwise, but I know 2nd and 3rd order thinking is impossible for you.

Worships capitalism, lol. If a new economic system came out today that was better I’d be all about it. I only like capitalism because NOTHING is CURRENTLY better than it.

What we have isn’t even capitalism, but you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about anyway so there’d be zero point in explaining it to you.

Funniest thing you’ve ever written.

You think the Fed is the bank in Monopoly. There’s nothing to refute because what you wrote is stupid. You’re the economic equivalent of a flat earther.

So what is to be done about it?

Learn to live with it because it isn’t going to go away. Ever. It’s part of the human condition.

I know this is a rhetorical question for him.

He has no clue what this entails. No company is going to expand capacity at an insane rate to meet temporary demand. That is insanely costly and would not fit any return model. It costs A LOT of money to increase production.

He doesn’t live in reality and understands business less than he does economics.

That’s why his ideal economic system is enslavement of the productive by the unproductive. I have no idea how that would happen or work, but that’s what he thinks he wants.

He doesn’t know what he wants. He’s just a contrarian. Every business in the world could be organized as a co-op and he’d still complain because life would be exactly the same for him.

It wouldn’t.

I would literally burn everything to the ground, if you tried to make me work for the unproductive. I can build it again and I am not afraid of work.

All of my close circle would do the same.

You want to force your producers and owners to cater to the unproductive losers? How about - no.

And nothing like corporations using inflation as a veil to increase prices so their bonuses and shareholder profits go up. But yeah, don’t blame them.

Yeah and the mainstream media talks about the corporations bribing the politicians all the time.

What? Are you insane?

You don’t understand economics at all on the federal level. Thinks everything runs like a business. What an ignoramus!

There is a huge difference between wanting more for yourself to make life easier and making others suffer for your gain. Look at Big Pharma. They make people suffer and even die for more shareholder profits and a bigger bonus check for the assholes at the top. People in Big Pharma will go and work for the FDA and back again. An obvious conflict of interest, which ought to be illegal. With prison time as a consequence. If you want “to get used to it” that is all on you.
