I like singletary so my vote is still out on him needing to go… But yeah we need a QB baaaaaad! I was happy with some of the things I saw from Troy Smith on Sunday though… Maybe he’ll turn out alright? (probably not though)

I’d like it also and it very well might happen. Have BARELY been following but I’ve had the feeling Singletary kinda hitched his wagon to Alex. We’ll see. If Singletary can disengage from his Alex commitment he might give Troy a real chance. I’m no Singletary fan though I will say he’s not boring to listen to.

It’s pretty damn cool to see a team with only 1-2 big names, who barely has anyone of note in their lineup (besides a baby faced rookie catcher), come together and win a championship.
I think this San Francisco win highlights one of the greatest facets of sports, the power of a team to come together and accomplish something greater than any group of individuals or superstars.

I think Singletary did kinda put all his eggs in the Alex Smith basket… but if he can transition to Smith and salvage whats left of this season I think he’d get another year. We need to get a QB this draft. Maybe Luck from Stanford? Get a Bay Area kid in there behind center?

The only way Singletary keeps his job is if we make it into the playoffs. Sticking with Alex for so long was a mistake, but I think the bigger mistake was not realizing how horrible our ex-OC Raye was.
Luck isn’t a Bay Area kid, he was born in DC and played high-school ball in Houston. I think taking a rookie QB is a bad idea in general. We have everything in place except for QB and CB, so why not sign an experienced free agent QB this off-season? We wouldn’t have to pay the premium for a rookie QB (when you don’t even know how he’s going to perform) and we wouldn’t have to go through all the growing pains.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Stanford fan and love Luck (like straight bro-crush), but we have a ton of pieces in place and would be better served inserting a proven commodity that can step up and win now. Kolb, Romo, and McNabb are just a few of the QBs who will become FA this off-season.

Yea I’m in meetings all day so I can’t either. I wish they would have done it in the evening or this weekend, it would be an amazing experience for sure.

I know Luck isn’t from the bay area (I was referring to Stanford not his highschool) but I still think we need a franchise Q. I hate the idea of paying what you have to pay for a top 10 draft pick at QB but it’s gotta happen sooner or later.
I totally think we need a good veteran Q now but it’d be nice to have the future guy already in house to learn from the more experienced vet. I’m not a big McNabb fan or a Kolb fan really but who knows?
