Don’t worry I’m just being irritating I know this doesn’t carry over lol however I do disagree with you’re arguement.
Many people don’t value tradition, especially if said tradition is flawed. In my opinion there are progressive and static traditions. Progressive tradition is a tradition that is open to change, therefore engrained ideologies don’t become trapped in said tradition forever, static tradition is one that refuses to change for any reason… Most religions (orthodox judaism, Catholicism etc) are perfect examples of this. What may be “traditional” values to you regarding morality and what should be acceptable will be different to another, however as society progresses as a whole, the few who try keep age old traditions tend to fall behind the times and end up living in their own little world with their community (no offence).
Child marriage is a tradition that has been largely abolished as it was unacceptable. I’m not saying the way society is turning out is good or right, however traditional values (in my opinion) won’t get us anywhere with regard to changing the current political/ social climate of today. Either way I wouldn’t worry about it, the far left and the far right are a small minority, they won’t take over and rise up, controlling the rest of society. It does seem as if many individuals on the further end of the right wing/conservative spectrum are extremely paranoid about things that are unlikely to happen, like a home invasion, immigrants taking over and all that BS.
Are you talking about like … The Kardashians and trash like that. The simplest and easiest way to avoid these “corrosive” influences is to simply not watch those shows. Now as a child I was never particularly impressionable, possibly because Ive never had anyone I consider to be a “role model” that guides and/or directs my life, and I always saw through the bullshit/ false realities shown in the media [quote=“mikebarnes, post:543, topic:247811”]
I would not want homosexual children because homosexual children cannot pass on inherited traits

I disagree here, surrogate mothers are now a thing. The reason I wouldn’t want a homosexual child has nothing to do with me, it’s because unfortunately, life as a homosexual is more difficult, you have to put up with hatred, stigma, bullying based on the individuals sexual orientation, and I wouldn’t want my kid to have to go through that ordeal. That being said I’m not going to be able to have kids anyway lol
Oh totally! Politics is slimy business, corruption is rampant, most only have their own agendas at heart, but then again can you say it’s any different for the general populace, most people only do things with their best interests at heart
This isn’t going to happen, marriage between two consenting adults doesn’t harm anyone. An adult marrying a child who hasn’t the ability to consent is harmful to the child, therefore you can’t draw a conclusion between gay marriage and pedomarriage
Let’s put it this way, most countries that still outlaw gay marriage/ homosexuality are low income countries with typically uneducated citizens, hatred towards gays stems from stone age old traditions, ignorance and miseducation in my opinion, and as society has progressed with regard to education, an emphasis on science over religion and human rights have become more focused on, acceptance toward homosexuality is (rightfully so) being pushed, as there is no reason to dislike homosexuals for a decision that is completely out of their control.
Slavery and racism used to be tradition in America, why not hold up that tradition too? (This arguement is just as flawed as the pedomarriage arguement but you get my point)
Saying because gay marriage is legalised will turn to everything marriage being legalised is the same as the arguements “well if physician assisted euthanasia is legalised for terminally ill patients, then soon everyone will be killing themselves/other people via physician assisted euthanasia”… Well… No, the documentation process to euthanize oneself will be LENGTHY, as suicide is no laughing matter, if it’s approved for terminally ill patients, that doesn’t mean any average Joe can opt to have his parents euthanized for insurance money… That’s not how it works.
Also I’m fairly sure someone will reply to this with a nice juicy insult. I’m not going to reply to anyone who speaks to me in a derogatory manner
