Meal Timing - 2 Sample Days

G’day everyone,

Down here in Australia us students are heading back to university and i just got my timetable and was wondering if someone could lend their advice/knowledge on the timing of my meal combinations based on an afternoon workout. Normally i have the luxury of hitting the gym in the morning and on a typical gym day this is how my eating pans out:

7am (dry measurements)
1/4 cup Steel-Cut Oats
1/4 cup Oat Bran
1/4 Cup Rolled Oats
1 Scoop of Grow!
1 Apple
1/3 cup berries
3 Egg Whites
2 tbl spoons of cottage cheese

9am
Gym
as i train 1/2 serving of Surge

10am
1/2 serving of Surge p/workout

11am
1/2 Cup rolled Oats
1/2 Cup Natural Yogurt
1 Scoop of Grow!
1/4 Cup Berries

1pm
1/4 Cup Quinoa
1/4 Oat Bran
Big Bowl of Veg
110g of Tuna

3pm
Omlette, Tone of Veg
5 Egg Whites
4 Tbl spoons of Cottage cheese
Handfull of almonds + Walnuts
1 Tbl Spoon of flax oil

6pm
200g lean beef mince + ton of vegies
4 fish oil caps

9pm
1 scoop Grow!
4-5 Tbl Spoons of Cottage Cheese
1 Tbl spoon of Ground Flaxseed
1 tea spoon of flax oil

And thats my typical day, pretty much i love following Dr. Lonnie Lowery’s theories on daily nutrition.

However on 2 of my wourkout days being back at uni soon i will have to work out in the afternoon, something i have never had to time meals around before and was wondering if there was any advice out there. especially considering that my morning bowl of oatmeal is a religious experience, something i dont want to give up.

Thanks for taking the time

For a Uni student that is a pretty damn good diet. Well done.

I assume that by your morning Oatmeal you are talking about the 11am meal and not the 7am breakfast. The breakfast should definately stay as is, and on afternoon work out days I dont think that there would be a problem with just swapping your 11am and 3pm meals around. Keeps it easy to keep control of your macros if they are working for you and there is no problem eating the oats in the arvo if you have had a good workout. Obviously still having the Surge pre/post workout.

Which part of Aus are you in?
