Marvel Universe Strength Scale

Superhuman: 50+ tons to 75 ton range
Aquaman (about 60 tons on land )

Superhuman: Class100+ Potentially incalculable (able to lift far in excess of 100 tons)
Aquaman underwater

I think ive lost all hope with DC
but on a serious note, did anyone actually know he was supposed to be this strong?
and how does the underwater part make sense, wouldnt more superheroes be class 100+ if they were tested underwater?
key word is in aquaman is AQUA he is atlantean so the water is his turf.

haha i wasnt comparing the two numbers I was just pointing out his supposed strength

Who the F sits there and makes up strength ratings for their drawings? I work with some geeks because its an art related job (D&D, Warcraft) but this is new to me.

I can picture two of them having an argument about this:
Mega Geek 1:SuperMan is way stronger than aqua man dude.
Mega Geek2: No no, remember in Aqua man issue 24 page 13, when he lifted that nuclear sub? That had to be like a kajillion tons.
Mega Geek 1: Yeah, but he DID NOT lock out. It doesnt count.

It would go on and on forever until some kind of geek black hole opened up and sucked them in.

Beautiful, sweet, hard worker in the gym and kitchen, with abominable loyalty to comics.

I feel betrayed, right here in my heart-place.

I’m guessing you never got hugs as a child, or someone at a comic shop raped you.

Here’s Supes from All Star Superman #1, pushing 200 quintillion tons with one hand. His left at that.

Not trying to be a hater, but wtf is the point of gauging the strength of fictional characters, that gain or lose superhuman attributes by the whim of the current writer and his story arc?

Think about wolverine, how much did his strength decrease when he lost adamantium?
Actually his healing factor became better due to the metal poisoning in his body being gone, he also became more “savage” and lost his nose oh gods and people wonder why I think marvel is dumb

Yes good old Grant butt sex Morisson the man who single destroyed kone of my favortite characters he gave Beast teh gey and made him look like an extra from a Disney film. Keep in mind that picture was taken after Supes got a shot of super gh and dbol from flying into the sun, it also slowly killed him and it was just an acid trip jerk off sesssion for Morrison(I hate that man people need to get off his tip). Now he’s the one who killed off the Bat and is bringing him back via living different lives.
Yes I admit I go beyond being a simple nerd I am +10 on the dork scale

I believe you’ll enjoy GMs work infinitely more if you look at his stories as if you’d just done a weeks worth of heroin in a period of flarf.

I’m just tired of hearing how great his stuff is, the comic book guy talks about his run on X-men and the like. I liked his early JLA stuff and Earth 2(now a dcu direct cartoon) was great but then he like most got too full of himself, and so many people are on his tip.

In short: Fuck Superman.

If you’re going to include shit like Smallville and Aquaman underwater than certainly top of the list should be something like X-Man, Phoenix, Cable, Exodus, everyone else… and I’m willing to bet Hope will be above all others at least until she revives everyone on the planet and then they kill her off because of how boring it would be to have her around in the X-Men universe which doesn’t say much since the X-Men as a whole suck horribly and need to be trimmed back in size.

In terms of lifting strength no those characters aren’t.

Yeah, what drew said. This scale is about physical strength! PHYSICAL STRENGTH!

If it was a Power scale, as in Psychokinesis, Energy Manipulation, and such. You would have X-man, Styfe, Cable(which is basically 3 different versions of cable), Thor, Thanos, Sentry, Silver Surfer, etc.

why isnt superman on there? isnt he the best of them all?

Well Teth Adam does have the powers of his pantheon of Egyption gods as Captain Marvel(s) has his(their) own in the greek heirarchy so there power levels would be god like or at least demi god like, case in point Kingdom Come where an adult crazy Billy Batson says the magic word and moves out of the way so that the lightning hits superman instead really pissing of the man of steel and hurting him via his other main weakness magic
