Margaret Thatcher Dies

Thanks for the kind words guys. I haven’t read any books on Thatcher just followed world events and watched one or two biographies. Obviously Lady Thatcher wasn’t perfect. There are limits to how strictly one should hang on to ideology. She got a little crazy at the end of her reign and it lost her support. Otherwise she could have stayed on for a long time.

The people who are dancing in the streets tells us a lot about the kind nation that the socialists have turned Britain into. The Scotch especially are just a useless bunch of whinging socialists at this point. They would be doing Britain a great favor by getting out and becoming just another unimportant province of the EU. They won’t be dancing in the streets when the Germans and French tell them get a job, we aren’t going to pick up your welfare tab like the English.

I can remember how the older generation of my family who were deeply patriotic and grew up with a hardcore work ethic felt about Thatcher. What lesser people hate about Thatcher is she was someone who actually gave a damn about Britain. She wasn’t one of the useless “citizen of the world” scumbags that have taken over and are now running the place into the ground. [/quote]

all that is true (even the bit about the Scots) but whilst she did things for the good of Britain-things that needed to be done, she did them in a very heavy handed way. overly heavy handed.

Pleased to see such a positive response at the funeral. Out of maybe 100,000 people the only protest I could see was four people in red turn their back to the coffin.

Wasn’t expecting the American granddaughter either, meow.

Yeah she’s not bad. In London I’ve come across no ‘hate’ for her and I’d say about 50% are of the view that she made a big improvement to the country.

Again…

If she was instumental in ANY way with keeping Great Britain out of the Eurozone…Brits should be praising her for Generations to come…

Obviously you missed the Blatant insult the United States hurled at the British people by not sending an official representative to the funeral. WTF? Hugo Chavez got an official delegation but nothing for Lady Thatcher?

Yeah now that you mention it that is pretty shameful.

I would like to think Bush sr would have gone if he wasn’t so frail. Was good to see Kissinger.

You shitting me? Obummer sent no one? What a used tampon he is.

Two former Republican secretaries of State – James Baker and George Shultz attended. He is catching shit because no one from the current administration nor a former president was “sent”. Not sure Obama gets to “send” anyone of the Bush or Clinton family anywhere.

Reagan is dead, and George HW Bush is really frail, and those are the 2 that she was closest to, so maybe I should give Obama a pass, but send someone.
