Here’s a question, has anyone here ever experienced a night terror…? What I hope are night terrors happened two times with me and I remember horrible things from them. They both happened in my old room in which when I was a kid didn’t want anything to do with it (I would sleep on the couch or an unused room most of the time when younger) from just generally being scared as shit in it at night, it’s also always had a unpleasant feeling about it. Happened to me as a kid once when I was staying over at a family friend’s house. Apparently I screamed loudly and then my brother woke me up to ask if I was ok and I had no recollection of it[/quote]
Lucky bastard. I woke up to images of blood, and something dead that I am not sure of. Second time I woke up to some bluish purple thing with a face that looked like a mask and two holes for eyes that were just black holes, and long lanky arms/hands along with a line where it’s mouth was supposed to be thing standing of my bed that then promptly walked out with a stagger way of walking. Both of those times my eyes were darting around the room and I got up with a feeling as if I jumped, the first time I was actually moving some before whatever it was disapeared.

Night terrors you supposedly are not aware of what is happening and will have no recollection of it. I have had those where I would supposedly wake up screaming and my Dad would run into my room and help me calm down and go back to sleep. I never remembered any of them.

However, I have also experienced sleep paralysis a few times a year for the past 8 years or so which sometimes is accompanied by some pretty terrible nightmares right before (alien abductions, dead people raping me, dead people trying to kill me, me trying to kill people, etc).

It sounds like you may be experiencing bad nightmares without realizing you are asleep. It sure can happen. OR you have witnessed demons trying to possess you.

Unfortunately, as far as I understand, all this stuff can be indicative of several personality disorders including schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder, though. I have always been too afraid to go and get psychologically evaluated.

Lol, you’re definitely right about that!

I’ve dealt with them my entire life. They are worse when I’m getting the proverbial 8 hours a night.

The less sleep I get on the regular the better my mind seems to handle many things, including these. My regular nightmares fade the more exhausted I am when I go to bed as well.

I’m a sweater more than a screamer.

Please elaborate…

I like creepy stories…

Worst nightmares ever. I particularly hate the dreams where I’ve already committed murder and am trying to evade capture and the debilitating guilt of my actions. I’ve gotten pretty good at waking myself up.

Nothing Roc writes is real. I’m about 90% sure he’s some random goofy kid who’s never lifted a weight in his life, and that he and darkninja are the same person.

Now, this is the kind of stuff I like to hear about…

I’ve been killed horribly so many times lol

Hah, glad to hear some people like mine, dark. And spartee, I shall be pissed if that happens to me tonight xD. My family has also had some weird stuff (not necessarily the type of stuff I mentioned), but from what I know a lot of what they’ve had is very very tame compared to the long line of unusual stuff for me.

It’s honestly not even scary. Just gets epinephrine pumping which is a stark contrast to a sleeping state which startles me.

This thread has me expecting to see a hooded figure standing over my bed every time I wake up in the middle of the night.

Sleep paralysis for sure. I will only allow myself to take very short naps (20 mins or less) because of this. Oddly enough I can’t recall it ever happening outside of naps.

I’ve only had this happen to me once. I started to panic and kept trying to scream. When I eventually woke up my girlfriend was like “Damn you were making some weird mumbling sounds there!” And I replied “No shit, I was desperately trying to get you to wake me up!”

The first time I saw the movie Exorcist, I couldn’t watch the whole thing. I got freaked out and went to another room to watch Frasier or some other dumb sitcom. Two days later I awoke at 6:00 AM to my bed shaking. My dad came upstairs to yell at me for horsing around, and we both realized that it had been a minor earthquake, very rare for MA. More funny than scary, but it freaked me out at first.

Well, I am heading down to savannah again, and will likely check out some haunted places (stores, restraunts, tours, very little things claim to be haunted there) I will do between one to three crazy things while there as long as they’re good.

I live on a ranch thats been occupied for 300+ years (Indians, Spaniards, and Whitey) and was a stop on the narrow gauge railroad, there were several robberies/shootouts here. In the night a lot of times there are random gunshot noises, my neighbors (closest is a mile way) can hear them as well.

In early May I was trail riding and heard a mountain lion scream, my mule spooked like hell and my hair was on end, so we went back home. Next day my neighbor lost a horse to the lion… A week or so later DOW got the lion and it was 275lbs and 13’6" from nose to tail. Hindsight made that one really frightening.

I shod a really nice horse, Alvin in Virginia, me and the owner had a falling out and I didn’t hear about poor old Alvin (really an incredible horse) for several years. Moved out west and was the farrier at a local youth horse show and some 7 or 8 year old rides out on a horse that looks familiar to me, at the end of the show he walks over to me, ignoring the riders commands, and nickers right at me. - not a scary story, but definitely shocked me. Old Alvin remembered me better then some of my family does!

Great idea for a thread

My only ‘supernatural’ experience happened when I was 11. My family got a dog in the summer, a springer spaniel it was NUTS! Three days before christmas he escaped out the back garden. After searching everywhere for him for two days we got a call from the vets to say they had a dog handed in,he had been run over and killed. Sure enough it was my dog and I was heart broken.

A couple of weeks before this I had bought him a massive bone for christmas, I had wrapped it up and hid it in the top shelf in my wardrobe so he didn’t sniff it out. After he died I couldn’t bear to chuck the bone out it was just too hard to do so I left it.

A month or so later I summoned the courage to finally throw the bone out, I opened the wardrobe door with much trepidation and there, to my horror, was an unwrapped bone, half eaten with fresh drool all over it. I shut the door and staggered away gasping for breath, paralysed from the shock. My dad asked me what was wrong so I told him. He went to the wardrobe, opened the door and there on the top shelf was a fully wrapped bone, just as I had left it.

I know what I saw that day but I’m also sure this was my mind conjuring up an image. The vividity of that image was terrifying. The mind is a powerful thing

The Georgia DNR states that there are no black panthers in Georgia, but many people have seen them over the years. I personally know 3 people that have seen them in North Georgia (near Gilmer County), and each time, their reactions were, “WTF?!?”

The actual cats, or the racial radicals?

Both are quite dangerous when provoked.

Shoot on sight!

Dont wear a hood though, you may spook them.
