I was going to type “you’re kidding right?” but I know you’re serious. Come on, the “Worldwide Homosexual Lobby?” Give me a break.

If such a small minority can get a large number of western nations to all changes theirs laws in such few years, maybe we could learn something from them in the matter of influencing governments.

Does the WHL have a website?

Hey, times change. Whether you consider aberrant or normal behavior depends on a lot of factor. I believe it is “natural” and not learned or chosen.

Epileptic where thought to be possessed by demons and exorcised or killed during the middle ages. It is allowed to correct something when we have it wrong, right?

So what? What does it matter that views on homosexuality changes with time or by culture?

A few hundred years ago, slavery was considered quite normal and was even supported by Biblical passages. Do you miss having a few chained negroes to do your yardwork and other menial tasks?

If the majority of people in every state is against gay marriage; then keep the status quo. But when or if the time comes when a majority of people in many states are ready to allow gay marriage, you will accept the will of the majority, right?
Since it is the legislatures that make the laws and we have a Constitutional Republic in which the people’s voice is expressed through ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES, this is the way it is going to be, unless the PEOPLE in the various states want it another way.

How was it done in California?

I think many people see it as a personal freedom issue. Personally, I don’t really give a fuck if gays or lesbians wish to marry. I don’t begrudge them the rights that heterosexual married couples enjoy under the law either. If it’s done between consenting adults; then I don’t really care what they do in the privacy of their homes.

Do you believe that Gay marriage is wrong?

Yes I do.

Or better yet, do you have ‘PROOF GAY MARRIAGE IS WRONG’?

Yes I do:

“?Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” Leviticus 18:22

“For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27?And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28?And even as they did not like to retain?h God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29?Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30?Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31?Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32?Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Romans 1:26-32

Q.E.D.

Dude, also according to the bible, shaving your sideburns is a mortal sin punishable by death. So is adultery - but by STONING to death. Also a nice bit of Leviticus, if a person has sex with an animal, they should be stoned unto death, and then so should the animal.

Frankly, I don’t give a flying SHIT what god you worship, HOW dear to you your faith is, or WHAT some 1800 year old book tells you, the MOMENT you try to use that faith and that book as “proof” in the legal realm, you are violating the Constitution of the United States of America, and acting the part of an opressive bigot. Legislation based on religion is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, and sir, I simply will not stand for it.

There are PLENTY of so called “theocratic” governments in the middle east - if you want to live your life according to religious law, I’m sure you’d be welcome there.

…but not in MY country, bub.
Knewsom,

Someone asked me for “proof,” I don’t remember that question as for “legal proof” but just plain old “proof.”

As a citizen of the United States of America – still a ‘free society’ as I remember it – I have EVERY RIGHT TO GIVE WHATEVER PROOF I WISH TO ANYONE I WISH – get it?

I CHOSE to GIVE BIBLICAL PROOF, which by the way, is all the proof anyone should ever need.

So whether you or anyone like you “stands” for it or not, I will CONTINUE to excercise MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to proclaim GOD’s truth however and wherever I choose.

Get that, bub?

Oh, and by the way, God loves you and Christ died for your sins…

SteveO,

You can justify your own beliefs however you like - in fact, you can hold a grudge against homosexuals because the bible says its wrong - fine. But don’t think for a MINUTE that a passage from St. Paul to the Romans is justification for legislation REVOKING THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE WHO DO NO HARM TO OTHERS.

Go ahead and rejoice and proclaim what you percieve to be god’s truth whenever and however you like with the exception of making laws based on the bible. I’m sure that you realize that trying to force legislation based on an obscure passage in a HOTLY debated religious text (or any passage from ANY religious text)is incredibly uncostitutional, and downright unpatriotic, that is, if you give a damn about what the founding fathers stood for.

I suppose you’re going to tell me next that slavery was the way to go, eh? Or that a cheating wife deserves death?

Wake up pal. God doesn’t want you to be a part of opressing other people. God WANTS you to do you damned best to be the best person YOU can and do your best to help alieviate poverty and hunger throughout the world. If you don’t think that’s more important than stopping gays from having the same rights as everyone else, then you’ve got some MASSIVELY twisted priorities.

…and for the record, I know awful lot about Jesus and the Bible and ancient History, and I CERTAINLY do not need to be told how great and wonderful Christianity is by a so-called Christian such as yourself. I mean seriously, you think Jesus would be a fucking REPUBLICAN!? If you met the dude, you’d probably have called him a pussy hippie liberal who needs to shave his nappy beard and cut his “brokeback” long hair. Maybe you would’ve even assaulted him with quotations from the bible.

Think about it… maybe you’ve met him already and didn’t even know it. Every moment in life is a chance to take one step closer to the ideal which you supposedly revere, or to take one step back.

…so before you flaunt your religion with such unabashed pride and arrogance, perhaps you should reflect on something that Jesus talked an awful lot about: Humility.

good luck,
Kris
