Liberals Go To Great Lengths

Interesting opinion and I value your thoughts. I will take issue with your use of absolutes. In a nutshell the liberal thoughts and ideas you have laid out are based on opinion not facts. Maybe somewhere in cyberspace someone has gone out and asked these questions but they are hardly well known studies and certainly not mainstream.

So be it.

If I am reading what you are saying clearly you are saying that liberalism works, if implimented correctly and by the right people. This has never happened yet but the academics will continue to study it and keep experimenting on us when they feel it is ready?

I don’t want to speak for you but that kind of summarizes what you said. Correct me if I am wrong.

Not very real world is it? I mean we really can’t operate a society based on theory. College kids and professors can debate it’s merits but those kids eventually graduate and are faced with reality.

Interesting position though. I’ll disagree with it of course…but interesting.

hspder, I also find your responses interesting and well thought out.
Thanks.

Well, actually you’re pretty close, except for one very important detail: Academics will continue to study it BUT it’s not our job to “experiment” on anyone. That’s what politicians do…

In a Democracy, it’s the people’s decision if they want to be “experimented” on with liberalism; Americans clearly don’t want to be part of the “experience”; Europeans do – they have been for the better part of the last 50 years, and in a lot of cases with extremely good results. Maybe they were so willing because they feel that liberalism is the default and the “experimentation” there is with conservatism. But either way, it’s not up to academia to neither make the decision of “trying it out on the field” nor implement it. Just study it – and provide advice when asked for.
