Legalizing Weed

Bit of conundrum drawing the line. I’ll feel free to not think too much of your judgement that I got things wrong. I won’t rain on your parade though. I’ll try to rein in my enthusiasm to argue with you as I am fairly certain that the people who agree with you aren’t going to reign any more.
I like the whole “rain, rein, reign” think you did…nice.

I agree drawing the line must be difficult for most liberals. You want to control the people by taking over 1/6th the economy with Obamacare. And you want women to have the right kill their unborn children…but you also want to force tax payers to pay for women’s birth control. Do women have the right to control their own bodies without tax payers help? I guess not–Quite a conundrum huh?

But as far as the people who agree with me…

They are in power in law enforcement, in the courts and in the legislatures across the country. And, there is even opposition to it in your party! As I’ve said pot will not be legalized any time soon.

And that makes me happy…look >

Furthermore, according to all the data we have drug use goes DOWN when it is decriminalized, which means that any costs borne by society go down too.
Ok, I am happy to read whatever data you have. Let’s see it.
Well, Pitt posted a link previously, which led to a, gasp, legalization website which had tons of studies.

I am happy to provide the link:

Ah, so you have gangs of stoners roaming the streets looking for a fight and breaking stuff?
Nope, and we don’t have gangs of drunkards doing that either.

That’d be a first. In any event, alcohol isn’t driving mobs to violence in the streets. Be serious.
Driving them?

No.

Do they get drunk to facilitate it?

Hell, yes!!

So can I infer from your posts Zeb that you believe pot is more harmful than alcohol?

lol @groo funny stuff. Zeb keep em coming junior? I wish I could get a picture of you so when I go back to Afghanistan in January for my second deployment I can rest easy seeing your face when I shoot.
All this anger because he doesn’t agree with your position on weed?

I don’t agree with his position on weed either, doesn’t mean I wish ill will on him or anyone that thinks it should be illegal.

Kinda taken back by your comment here man.
There will always be a Ying and Yang in the world.
Its nothing about him agreeing with me. Its about I asked him a question twice and instead of answer he talked to me as if I’m a child. Basing things on well lets just keep the way things are because it has always been that way makes no sense. Perfect example is look at the tribes in Africa. I don’t know the name of them but the women put big stones in their lips to expand them. You know how unsafe and just down right stupid that is. They will probably still continue to do that just because it is how it has always been. That is why I said what I said.

O just a little fun fact of information. Over 50% of sexual assault cases include the use of alcohol. I have never heard of anyone doing it on weed.

I’m not for prohibition or anything like that. I’m just against dumb shit and for freedom.

Yes.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to ask a few questions involving ‘what ifs’.

If you somehow came to the belief that alcohol is as dangerous or more dangerous as you believe pot is, would you be for prohibition of alcohol?

Also, if you came to the belief that pot is no more dangerous or less dangerous than alcohol, would you be for the legalization of pot?

I bet the mostly young women ,just think that is a hoot . I agree with you totally about freedom . My point is it is a HUGE waste of money . The war on drugs does more damage than the drugs do

Well the mature thing to do would be as you said - to acquire a picture of him, take it on your next deployment and pretend you’re shooting him.

I do not know why Zeb is the way he is , if you notice every person that Zeb disagrees with is some how lesser than he , I am sorry it is over my head

I can only go by the facts at hand. Those facts state that alcohol is less dangerous. With that said I am no fan of either alcohol or pot.

Wow…you googled “pot is safer than alcohol”.

No wonder that you rule these threads with your towering intellect.

Nice!

Well, I would not say that the google is the end all and be all of “facts” but I prefer it to your ass, which is where your “facts” come from.

As you might expect, you can’t trust stoners to give a sober, even-handed look at the data (pun intended).

States that decriminalized marijuana had higher usage rates above the national rate:

http://www.oas.samhsa.gov/subState2k6/mj.htm

Causation? Correlation? Unclear. But what is clear is that the claim that decriminalization does not lead to higher usage is as hazy as Pittbull’s living room.

Now who would have ever thought that when you legitimize a drug, provide more of it and make it more readily available that you actually get more users instead of less?

This confounds logic!

LOL
