Labs Help and Advice

I’ve been doing TRT for 6 months now starting in September 2010. I began with IM injections and after 2 months switched to Sub Q. My question is about how to better manage Estradiol.

         Sept Oct Nov March

Total T 256 1148 Switched to Sub Q 795 (250-1100)
Free 58.1 194.8 (35.0-155.0)
Estradiol N/A 37 17 51 (13-54)

Per the sticky I’m doing 2 Sub Q shots per week (Wed and Sat) and taking Liquid Arimedex every other day for a total of 1.0 per week (split up dosing .3, .4, .3). I keep a calendar in my medicine chest to make sure I’m tracking things right.

From Oct to Jan I was carrying a lot of extra water weight. I switched brands of Test Cyp and went on a very low carb diet. I dropped 20lbs and the edema in my legs has gone away.

You can see from my numbers that my E2 has really gone way up. My doctor isn’t happy with my taking Liquid Adex and wants to wait another 3 months run labs and maybe go on Clomid.

Any thoughts on a better way to manage E2? I certainly don’t want to wait another 3 months to get on top of this.

Thanks

Formatting didn’t work right.

Sept Total T was 256
Oct after TRT it went to 1148
Nov I switched to sub q injections and T is at 795 (range 250-1100)

E2 went from 37 to 17 and now its up to 51 (range 13-54)

Clomid does not reduce E2, it increases E2. Did your doc actually suggest that?

Did you start hCG?

You could have edited that first post!

If using the same anastrozole, suggest that you go back to IM, we had another guy who did not do well with SC. If you return to those prior levels, that is your answer.

You can do E2 lab only via LEF.org

RC anastrozole has any solids settled out? If so, you would be taking weaker solution.

Thanks KSman,

Sorry about the post - I tried to publish the details as a table so it would be easier to see the changes over time.

I don’t take Hcg - I thought that was only if the testes were reducing in size.

The Liquidex doesn’t seem to have any settling.

Yes, the DR did actually say Clomid. He also was kind of pushing the pellet implants - any new thoughts on those?

I think I will return to IM for a month a retest E2 with LEF.org

what does your TSH and Cortisol look like?

high estrogen while on HRT seems to indicate low cortisol (especially if you are not on HCG).

it seems that people who fix their low cortisol have less issues with excess coversion of T to E2.

Pellets are like a minor surgical procedure and a very costly T delivery system. Docs make a lot of money with implants.
