I don’t know why you would treat thyroid first since thyroid can’t function without proper cortisol support, but it sounds like you may be on track now.
New bloodwork (and especially saliva) is always helpful and if you can get it, go for it. But if your actual bloodwork and symptoms haven’t changed any, I can’t really see a huge reason for this.[/quote]
Both are great points.
Wonder if he would have increased my thyroid meds…nevermind… don’t want to think about that.
My bloodwork is due, BUT as you said, my symptoms haven’t changed so why waste the money and 2 weeks feeling like this for the results to come in when he can script something now?
Their office closes early on Friday so I’ll call on Monday.

As mentioned before you are having some kind of immune response going on in your body causing not only one but other markers of inflammation going on. Most likely it would probably be due to insulin resistance or some kind of immune imbalance. Back 2 years ago when dealing with you we did not know as much about the immune system as we do now. I suspect there may be something going on deeper then what these other dr’s are not addressing. Until you find what is the root cause of all this is then you will continue in this wild goose chase. My suspicion is that it may be a heavy metal, or some kind of environmental influence going on. Most likely it may be MTHFR mutation which is very common in people with high homocysteine levels. Preg would be a good start, but again what is causing the depletion of cortisol in the first place? He is now starting to show increased inflammation which is most likely systemic and no longer centralized. Some HRT are great but they lack the expertise of a more integrative approach. Since the past year I have a lot of colleague specializing in fields of medicine dealing with immune system, neurology, ect whom I am able to resource if we run into these complicated cases. I suggested over 2 years ago to get nutreval, it may give you clues to what is going on instead of going in their blind. You have been at this long enough and its time to stop playing guessing games before something 5 years down the road happens when it could be prevented. The moral is that hormones will not solve all the problems like people think. IMO they may be masking something else which is majority of the case when people go down that road.

First of all, I appreciate your response and concerns.
- You mention insulin resistance. If my issue is cortisol related and I get my body to the proper levels, will that balance insulin?
- How does one test for heavy metals such as mercury?
- You and I did the Spectracell test. Is that the same as Nutreval?
