Lab Results & Help with Next Steps

You’ll have to look. I’m sure there’s plenty of info out there.

Hey guys,

Back again. I’ve had some additional work done, and I’m having a hard time understanding exactly what this means. Any input would be great. Please bear in mind i’m NOT on TRT, and have all of the classic ‘low t’ symptoms still, obviously my T has come back decent so…not sure?

Bump, any advice?

Your Total T is great by our standards it’s 769 ng/dL which is near the top of the reference ranges, however I prefer to have SHBG and Free T measured directly so I can compare calculated versus directly measured as it wouldn’t be the first time calculated wasn’t useful.

We know there is a variability in the stickiness of SHBG person to person, some see SHBG bind androgens weakly, some moderately and others a little too strongly for their own good.

If your SHBG was elevated near high normal, it may very well invalidate your calculated Free T lab.

Thyroid looks great as well. Prolactin is a little elevated but don’t think there is an issue.

Clomid is typically short term, few men stay on it long term. TRT is the end game.

So that is what calculated is. They Are bloody guessing? That’s sick.

In the not so distant future doctors will be able to test androgen receptors and determine the ranges that person needs to be in to feel normal. This entire area of medicine is in its infancy.

Now that would be awesome!

Thanks for the response. Yeah labs look solid although I have the standard low T symptoms still regardless. Lack of libido, ED to a certain extent etc, lack of progression, hard to lose fat, easy to put on weight etc. What would you advise to look into regarding these symptoms?

You need free t and thyroid checked. Calculated free t is not accurate from what system is saying.

Free t and the thyroid fee t3 are the two hormones you want at normal ranges to feel good. If they are low you then know why your experiencing sides.

From there one gets a trt specialist involved and you start your journey. Or go straight to a trt clinic and talk to them.

Do not use someone who dabbles in trt. They are a waste of time.

I would test Toal T, Free T (directly measured) and SHBG, then we can go from there.

It wouldn’t’ hurt to check Free T3 and Reverse T3 to see the ratios between the two.

A non TRT specializes as enackers points out is well a waste of your time, trust me I’ve been to three endocrinologists (hormone doctors) who didn’t have a clue about sex hormones ~TRT, only thyroid and diabetes.
