It is completely irrelevant that he is married, rich, famous etc. By the same reasoning her background is of no consequence. All that is of concern in the incident in question.

I just find it hard to believe that she went up there after midnight, stayed for the better part of an hour, and didn’t have anything sexual on the brain when she went in.
I think that she consented and then later on regretted it. In my opinion this isn’t rape. It wasn’t the smartest thing for Kobe to do, but it doesn’t mean that his whole career should be tarnished by this. Kobe isn’t Mike Tyson. He isn’t even Allen Iverson. But, like I said, only two people really know what happened, everyone else is just guessing. No physical evidence has been made public, everything we know is circumstantial and it can be taken many different ways.
As far as him cheating on his wife- there’s a saying among people who spend a lot of time on the road: what happens on the road stays on the road. I’m a musician, I have partaken of what we in the band call “tour butt”. Might not be the most attractive person in the world, maybe not even comparable to your spouse or partnet back home, but when you’re tired, stressed out, and lonely, it’s very easy to take comfort in the arms of a stranger. I’m sure for all the money that Mrs. Bryant has at her disposal she will overlook Kobe’s occasional flings and play the doting saint of a wife for the cameras.

We can’t decide his guilt or innocence until we know the facts, and even then way may not know. For the time being, under the American judicial system, he is innocent though. That whole guilty part has to be proven. Same with her. She’s just the accuser, and we have no idea whether or not we should trust her.

While I agree with the fact that it’s very unlikely he’d rape the girl considering the plethora of ass he could get on a regular basis, I’m surprised nobody has brought up the high levels of DRUG AND ALCOHOL use that’s common among pro athletes. I’m sure he’s used to getting what he wants, whenever he wants it. Just add some booze and horniness to the mix, and you’ve got a much more likely case of rape.

Another thing to consider in “judging” his adultery is that we don’t know if there was an arrangement between Kobe and his wife or not. From the looks of his “confession”, I doubt it, but that could all be a play anyway. According to the Bible, thou shalt not bang those thou beeth not married to, so Kobe screwed up according to that, but would everyone here consider it adultery if Kobe and his wife had a pre-existing understanding about this sort of thing?
