The guy is a piece of garbage, he is an inventive producer and it seems people are easily fooled with a new beat which he has plenty of. The rest is him just spewing trash out of his mouth. And he isnt even rapping he is just talking.

If you want to reduce anger to a tamper tantrum then I would say he has less T, but when someone stands up for themselves and refuses to get F’d over you call that a temper Tantrum?
A temper tantrum is if he said I didn’t win an award I’m not making music anymore. He didn’t do that he said I’m not supporting MTV anymore if they are not supporting me!!! A grown man needs to be allowed to speak up for himself if thats what he chooses to do.
I think you need to check the definition for what a tantrum is. Expressing anger is mature if done in a civil manner. He expressed his anger in a very immature manner and he let his emotions override his higher judgement. I’m not going to discuss in detail exactly what qualifies his reaction as a tantrum, but it certainly does fit the definition.
On a side note, since I know someone will say something along these lines, not everything he did qualified his actions as a tantrum. Focusing on only part of his actions do not disqualify his episode of anger as being a tantrum.
So your saying he wasn’t civil? He smacked somebody? He broke a camera? Or are you saying because he was yelling BACKSTAGE he wasn’t civil? This wasn’t during a performance. This wasn’t on set. If there wasnt a behind the scenes camera you wouldn’t even know how he felt. Yet Justing screamed on camera about playing videos. Thats probably more detrimental to MTV then Kanye if the tape doesnt get out. Maybe people here are just scared of anger.
I think T-Nation needs a race forum and thread. Everytime I think we are talking about one thing, it ends up about Race. While I don’t mind discussing any racial issues it seems to take away from the topic of the threads to begin with. Maybe if you guys decided to say what you really feel we wouldn’t have to worry about nooses secretly hanging on Maryland Campus.

Ok what part of what he said was garbage the fact that Umbrella video was better than the Stronger video?

However his retarded comments during Katrina were worse, and why anyone would support him in anyway after that is beyond me, unless of course you agree with him, do you support his comments?
In most cases i’m able to seperate a persons personal/political views and their music/movies.

Saying, “Give a black man a chance,” is not the same as saying, “Stop keeping me down, white man.”
Sorry, you’re wrong.

If that was the case then he could’ve said “give a man a chance,” AND you chopped off the rest of my quote where I mentioned his stupid katrina comments, which without a doubt pretty much say stop keeping the black man down white man.

10 of your 79 posts in the entire T-Nation forum are devoted to this thread on Kanye West. An artist that you’ve probably never met is a “piece of shit” in your eyes because he’s upset about not winning an award that to most observers he rightfully should have won?
You are beyond pathetic, seriously. Get off of the internet and do something significant enough with your life that you can understand his passion.
He makes great music, that’s all I care about.

If George Bush represents every white man then Yes you are correct. I guess I will now walk around and call every white guy G-dub.
Matter of fact My boss G-doogie is watching me let me get back to work.

Kanye didn’t win because George Bush doesn’t care about black people.

I typically only reply to my own posts and I only recently started using the forum, but I’ve been reading the site since 2000 - longer than you.
Now you’re calling me pathetic based on what I think of some musician, well I know more about kanye west then you know about me so what makes me pathetic? You said I don’t know the guy and you’re right I don’t, all I know is what I see of him in the media, and from what I see he is a piece of shit, including his music, (by the way I have a large collection of rap and hip hop music so don’t think I’ve never listened to any of it). Music taste is subjective, and his music wasn’t the topic of this thread to begin with.
By the way I’ve done enough significant things in my life to understand passion, I also know what it’s like to lose an award, (and win them), but if you’re really good at what you do then you don’t need awards to validate yourself. kayne west is a whiner who needs validation to feel good about himself.
Maybe you can go suck his dick and make him feel better about losing.

He said the media was portraying blacks in a negative manner, so he was implying that society is trying to surpress blacks, that’s my opinion, so I guess we can agree to disagree.
I’m cool with agreeing to disagree. But I don’t disagree with you saying he said that the media was portraying blacks in a negative manner, or that g.w. doesn’t like black people.
I specifically disagree with you saying that he said or implied stop keeping him down white man. There are blacks who keep the black man down just as much as any white or other racial group.
How many artists were nominated for the award?
How many lost?
How many bitched about it?
There’s something called class. Accepting the reality of defeat and moving the fuck on. Particularly when you’re in Kanye’s position. Screaming about the injustice done against you, when you’re born with the talent he has, in the environment he was, and being in the position he is, is just pitiful. Nothing manly about it whatsoever.
This album is his worst yet too. Pharoahe Monch has the best hip hop LP out this year, yet you don’t hear him crying about the fact that nobody knows it.
Why would he cry if 2 people like it?
He said "not one award??
He got nominated for 5. How many people who had monster number 1’s in multiple years not have one award?
Pharaoh Monch won’t complain because in the back of his mind he knows 3 people like the album you his mom and him.
I doubt MTV asked Pharaoh to use $50,000 of his own money to perform for them so that they can get higher ratings. Then give him 5 minutes of shared air time. Kanye would have been perfectly happy if they gave him an invitation to sit in the audience and he didn’t get an award.

ahahaha word. Album is nuts tho, check it out.
Kanye will never be happy. He’s been whining every year. He’ll do it again next year. And his albums will continue to get progressively weaker. It’s ok. I just can’t give half a fuck about his ‘plight’, given the circumstances outlined. Whether he gets conned out of 50 grand means fuck all to me.

I wasn’t addressing the rest of your quote because I didn’t have any issues with it. I was only addressing that line so I thought I would make it more “user friendly” and truncate.
Correct me if im wrong but didnt Kanye sample his Hit song from a Daft Punk song? Fighters get their face smashed in with soccer kicks, arms broken with Kimuras, and Lose to horrible descion (Hamil-Bisping anyone?) You dont see them whine or bitch the way Kanye did. Kanye jsut lost his right to be labled as a Man.

I didnt watch any of that MTV crap I am just talking about his terrible music, he is part of what ruined hip hop.

No their celebrity status doesn’t give them the right to speak their mind about politics or religion … The Constitution does. Why should opinion about any subject be limited to a specific outlet?
I think he needs to have a talk to Susan Lucie !! Just take your millions and millions of dollars and shut the fuck up !!
