Jon Stewart Insults Catholics Again

You are true to form here, one more slam on religious people.

Bigot.

No, I failed kindergarten.

You said, “[a]nd if it were not a problem…Unless we have something to gain from increasing population I don’t see the point in promoting it as a non-problem.”

So, unless it benefits you, we should call it a problem? Continue to kill innocents?
I am not the bible so you can’t interpret what I say to mean anything you want. No where did I mention or imply killing anyone.
Then please, show us your five point plan of de - overpopulating the earth.

A. ZEB makes good points

B. BC, I don’t know how you got that out of sufiandy’s post. Discouraging increased population growth does not equal killing people.

You guys do know that the Stewart show is comedy right. It’s on Comedy Central not CNN, not Fox, and not CSPAN. It’s meant to be entertaining and not meant to be news. If you’re insulted by a comedy show then life has got to be just one big tribulation for you.

Really? Look at China’s overpopulation plan. Force abortion, which kills people.
Then you have contraception, which is in some cases abortifacient that also kills people.

Please explain why I shouldn’t be insulted…because it’s comedy.

China’s forced abortions is horrendous. You won’t be finding me defending that one. But as I see it, the best way to this is industrializing 3rd world countries. The poorest Latin American and Subsaharan African countries are the ones with the greatest over-population problems.

Just because you only see one way does not mean that it has to be the only way.

Over population is not real, so I don’t need a way for anything. However, looking at what is done, killing people is the “way” in which most countries are dealing with it. And, how people have advocated to fix over population.

Stewart has and does rip on everyone (including Dems, Liberals, other religions, etc.), weird how I’ve never seen a bunch of whining when he rips on them…
Sorry, I was not aware that if you are upset about someone disrespecting your religion–especially during a time when you face a gargantuan level of disrespect from the federal and state government by ignoring your 1st amendment rights–you are merely whining and you need to shut up.

Sorry, I do not find blaspheme funny. And if you think I, or other Catholics, are going to stop “whining” and not stand up against anti-Catholic bigotry…well you’re in for a surprise.

The fact is that the man crossed the line, he’s apologized before when he’s been far less disrespectful: He apologized for insulting President Harry Truman, for his relationship with Anthony Weiner, for smearing Fox News Viewers.

Update: Delta dropped Jon Stewart.
That was more directed at Zeb but then again he doesn’t ever watch the show so it’s all based of clips like this that he draws his judgement. I would expect a religious person to whine if a jab at their religion is taken. You know with the tolerance taught and all. Complaining on a web forum is way more level headed than blowing people up for sure.

What is your five point plan for reducing the abortion rate, kill anyone who wants to have one?

It wasn’t a slam on religious people. I can’t think of any text that has more interpretations than the bible, if I could I would have used that analogy instead.

While I agree with the posts saying that if you’re gonna insult one, you gotta do them all. But it’s pretty laughable that ZEB calls people who aren’t brainwashed and indoctrinated in his bullshit religion “simple minded idiots” when the simple minded idiots are the people who believe being gay or a single mother is the same as murder. Although I believe in religious freedom it doesn’t take away from the fact i beleive religion has caused many of the worlds problems and holds society back from advancing.
Read much?

 1. I never said that people who were not Christian were “simple minded idiots” (although you are not helping your cause right now).

 2. I never said that being a single mother is the same as being a murderer (this is definitely your stupidest comment).

 3. You believe that religion has caused many of the worlds problems. Yet, the lack of religion has caused even more problems. Shall we make a comparison over the past 100 years?

Now be a good little boy and reread my posts above and come back with something that is at least close to what I wrote.

Rips republicans about 75% of the time. He isn’t even pretending to be fair. He doesn’t have to be “He’s ONLY a comedian…bla bla bla…”

You’re going to have to try to keep up. It was established early on that while under the guise of being funny Stewart is able to say whatever he wants and in fact DOES have a political agenda.

And…many who watch his show are young and impressionable.

Now go read the thread, or go away.

Nope, I don’t think so. I just think this stuff rolls off your tongue, or in this case your keyboard far too easy.

You’re a religious bigot.

Just in case anybody’s interested, not that there’s any particular reason why anyone should be, I couldn’t possibly care less what Stewart says about anything. I do not find God hating blasphemy funny either, but I expect it. I’m told to expect it. This society is reaping exactly what it has sown. Stewart is a blasphemous God hating pagan in a blasphemous God hating society that is entertained by his God hating blasphemy. Wadda shock that that’s what he produces. This is outrageous?

Well I think so and we are both entitled to our own opinions. I will try to come up with a better example next time to not offend you, even if I am not replying to you in the first place.

Nice writing style. I understand it’s Cinco de Mayo.

However, I don’t care if anyone takes us seriously. I’m sure most people actually do take us seriously. But, what I am concerned with is respect. I give others respect, and I want respect back. Interesting thing this country was founded on.
Nice way to change the subject

'[The Athenians] do not allow comedians to attack the people so that they may not be abused themselves; they encourage personal attacks if anyone wishes, knowing that the butts of comedy are not for the most part of the common people nor from the masses…

…it is my view that the common people at Athens know which citizens are respectable and which are wicked; realising that the latter are useful to them and help them, they like them despite their wickedness, but they tend to hate the respectable citizens. They do not think that their virtue exists for the common people’s advantage but the opposite…’ - Old Oligarch, 5th Century BCE
