And also, every day is NOT boot camp. There’s so much damn partying it’s not even funny, lol! Just be careful and SAVE YOUR MONEY. Don’t buy stereos and stupid ass cars with rims. SAVE YOUR MONEY!![/quote]
Ouch, my wallet hurts just remembering those days…
To all of you kids debating whether to join or not:
If you have to ask the opinion of other people to weigh out your decision because you have this tremendous fear of eminent danger, do all us combat servicemembers a favor: Take your candy ass back to the kitchen, mommy is calling.
Im sorry you had a bad experience with your recruiter. My recruiter is actually a pretty good guy and most of the guys i go to poolee functions might not be the smartest but i would rather have them in a hole with me than some of the dumb shits i saw at meps joining the army and navy. Also i know this isn’t a dick sizing competition but for you comment about marines being stupid i scored a 92 on the asvab half assing it. Like to see most of you do that. Like in anything they will be a fair share of assholes and dumbasses with anything you do in life whether its the marines, college or any job. Judging the marine core or anything by what a few assholes you met is just stupid.

The one thing I noticed is that for the recruiters and enlisted ranks, those who carry the most clout and authority are those who have been in for a long time and never progressed to commission…
What does that mean?
You may be taking orders from a guy a lot less intelligent than you, and who is a lot less honorable than you think the Marines should be.

I started reading your post, but stopped at this. Not everyone in the armed services wants to be an officer. It has nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with personal goals and choices. Of course, you may be taking orders from someone less intelligent or honorable, but that can happen anywhere. I hope the rest of your post was more intelligent than this garbage. I’m glad you decided not to join.
The military is an honorable and valued profession. You will have no regrets if you decide to join up. However, join with both eyes open.
Don’t join the Marines if you don’t want to fight. The Marines are nearly always the first to go to the fight. Don’t join the Army if you are not prepared to fight.
Not every classification has combat duties but you should be prepared to fight when called upon.
I’ll echo what Mike said. I wouldn’t want you in my platoon if you hate war. This one or any other we are involved with. I also enjoyed military service the most during wartime. Warfighters always do.
Careful with the advice you are given. Lixy is a propagandist for Islamic Terrorism and frequently tries to spin the actions of murderers and cuthroats as being justified. Do a search under his name if you don’t believe me. The “army” his cousin joined was most likely Hesbollah or the Revolutionary Guard in Iran. Remember it’s the internet so be careful.
