Jefferson Deadlift

after reading the article on this variation of the deadlift i tried it. it felt great but im not sure if im doing it 100% right, in the video the fellow has no problem getting all the way up.
i thought maybe i was lifting too much so i lowered the weight, but it seem that when i get the bar up between my quads i have to really pull to get it all the way up no matter the weight, as if its stuck on my leg, i think i have the position right with one foot in front one behind.

any ideas what i can do to make that easier to do?

Without a video, it’s kinda tough to tell.

Your torso could be “too” upright, limiting the strength of the hips. Your stance could be too squared off - try pointing the back foot at a little angle outwards. You could just be unconsciously scared to pull too fast and smash your nuts. This is an understandable and healthy fear.

If you’re having the trouble no matter the weight (empty bar, broomstick, whatever), then “something” might be tight and limiting your ROM. Make sure you’re very well warmed-up before doing them, maybe using them at the end of your session as a finisher, and see if that helps. Or, flip it 180 and do them first, when everything’s fresh and strongest (but again after a very thorough basic warm-up). Sorry for the non-descript suggestions. Not a lot to go on.

thanks for the reply, i figured it out after watch several videos on youtube, the one on here didnt give me a god angle on postioning so i was off a bit changed leg position and it was better
