I just saw Jack Lalane on TV doing an interview.
It’s his 92nd. Birthday. The son of a bitch looks like a healthy guy in his 50’s or early 60’s. Hard frickin core.
His secret he said…don’t eat anything that comes in a box.

Then I’ll just have Micky D’s give me my big mac on the tray. No box anywhere.
That guy is incredible.
He’s only like 5’6 too (inspirational for us short guys

Shorter guys live longer because of their superior genetics.

Smaller people live longer because of less strain on the organs; pumping, filtering, etc. are all easier with less of a body to work with. It’s also easier for the organs to work in an environment not polluted with toxins and congestants. Jack Lalane scores on both accounts.

I thought taller guys have superior genetics. I guess I’ll have to live large now and forget about retirement.
its not so much short guys but small guys (and girls). a short, fat out of shape guy is just as prone to disease as a tall fat out of shape lad. there is a relation to small people who have a lower caloric lifestyle that live longer.
on another note, you should see a vid of a 91 year old Helio Gracie (father of Royce). This guy actually does BJJ (Gracie) on the mat with a guy that’s in his late 20’s or early 30’s. He actually throws the guy in an armbar and choke. Amazing for a 91 year old to be able to whoop some ass if need be.
I saw him this morning after my workout. He is awesome.
Any chance T-Nation can do an interview with him?

Yes, great idea.
He was the first “old guy” I ever thought of as sexy.
Yes, he’s a badass. My fav quote from his is,
I still wake up with an erection that a cat can’t even scratch.
LMAO
And for cryin’ out loud, spell the guys name right!
Lalanne

Right. You forgot the part about them getting more oxygen because they’re breathing at a lower elevation.
Also, they get more exercise because it takes them more steps to get from A to B.
In addition, while going up a set of steps is normal for taller folks, to the short ones it’s like a set of walking lunges.
No wonder they live longer!
I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago. His enthusiam and positive outlook are infectious.

If that cover is from 1954 that makes him 40 in that shot.

LOL good points.
And for the record, I know most probably realise I was joking, but for the rest…I was joking.

Stop your whining, tall guys get more chicks! Believe me I know, being 5’7" and having 2 buddies who are both 6’2". Of course I don’t need as much muscle to make me look big.
