Let me guess, you played WoW? Shit man and I thought I was anti social, but having no friends? Aren’t there any people your age where you live to get to know? Then again i guess every area isn’t like NYC where if you leave your apartment you could probably run into 10 people your age in about 5 minutes.

Yep, WoW is the devil =(.

My problem is that even if it was like NYC with lots of people my age, I’d still have trouble approaching them.[/quote]

There is some good advice here, join a club or sports team. Most amateur sports are extremely social, in fact they are more like social clubs with a bit of sport thrown in…

I’ve been a member of a few martial arts clubs through at Uni and have friends in others and these are all extremely social.

Try chatting to people at your gym, work in/spot people… and whatever you do try not to come accross as desperate!

You’re at college, there must be clubs/societies/sports tems there?
Whereabouts in the UK are you?

Online computer games can be a bitch, I know a guy who failed his degree as a direct result of playing too much counterstrike, he was a bright kid too.

I knew guys who flunked out of college for something as lame as Mortal Kombat. I would never call that “bright”.

lol, fair enough, I guess being clever and being “bright” can sometimes be mutually exclusive.

The guy I knew was clever, but bright (defined by me as: in the possesion of common sense!) he most certainly was not.

I haven’t really looked for any sports clubs, I was thinking of maybe taking up jiu-jitsu though.

I live about 10 miles north of london.

You’re 18, every day should be a memorable event. Forget jiu-jitsu, take up a GIRLFRIEND!

Winner. Girlfriends > clubs/minor companions.
