“They are devils who merely care for death and blood,” the staffer said.--------sums it up nicely.
This has been a growing concern over the past two years and according to intel reports: drug money, fighters, etc, are flooding this area due to weak and corrupt governments.
Lynch is yet one more disgraceful appointee by Obama.
I sure would be. Not only would they be taking the very scenic route, but al- Shabaab is an affiliate of al-Q’aida.
I think perhaps you are thinking of travel in the more traditional sense, while I was thinking of stops along the way where they can setup cells that can take root in an area along the way. I should have been more specific on what I meant. I wasn’t meaning following the GPS to the shortest route.
And the scenic route may be the way if you do not wish to cross unfriendly territory. Around the arabian peninsula, in to a friendly, Somalia, Eritrea is royally fucked up, Sudan is a cake walk (through the desert, but still), then Libya. All along the way, you can recruit for the cause and setup safe zones for fellow travelers.
So no, it’s not the shortest route but it could be the safest and most easily recruited.
Comments like this never cease to amaze me:
“Country has endured wave of killings”
“I never thought something like this could happen. It is next to a small hospital. This is family-friendly restaurant. Everyone loves to go there,” the 49-year-old told CNN. Unbelievable.
I spent some time in the Karrda district, many young familes, probably a lot of children killed in this one.
“This is a cowardly and heinous act of unparalleled proportions, to target peaceful civilians in the closing days of the holy month of Ramadan including shoppers preparing for the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday,” Ján Kubiš, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General (SRSG) for Iraq, said in a statement Sunday"
“This shows Daesh’s wanton intentions to kill, maim and demoralize,” he added, using the Arabic language acronym for the terror group"
Really, genius?, you just came to that fucking conculsion? You worthless idiot.
What is your suggestion for stopping this bullshit? I suggested making a plea to the Sunnis and others sitting on the fence to turn their guns on the radical ones, but everyone thought this was a stupid idea even though it was the basis of the Awakening Council. Or perhaps it’s too late because The USA under Obama and the Iraqi’s under the sway of Iran left the Awakening Councils to be absorbed by ISIS. No one helped them and they were hung out to dry, either assimilate or be exterminated like so many others.
So, what’s the solution? How to stop this?
Unfortuntately, the breakup of Iraq is the only viable alternative - Syria, Jordan, Iraq - they’re practically arbitrary lines in the sand drawn by British and French officials Sykes and Picott post WW1 breakup of the Ottoman empire, taking no account for tribal and religious affiliations.
Create a Kurdish state up north and position US troops as a deterrent against Turkey. Let the Kurds try to create their egalitarian socialist utopia in northern Iraq/Syria (which is a horrible idea anywhere else, but good in the ME) - better to have US military presence in Erbil than in Baghdad.
Cut a deal with the Iranian regarding Kurds, as Iran is relatively passive regarding the Kurdish issue.
Sensible, but will never happen because it makes sense and is also labor intensive in the up front cost. Our current schemes are more labor drain in the long run, but the up front “sticker shock” of all the work to be done will ensure that–barring a serendipitous series of geopolitical events–this plan never becomes viable sadly.
Yes, letting 150k Afghans into the country was a great idea, Mrs. Merkel.
If someone asked me two years ago what are the odds of being attacked by a knife wielding Afghan in a German provincial train I would have placed it somewhere around the odds of being mauled by a tiger in North Dakota.
Also, very sinister. This is truly a threat to our way of life if Western women are not safe in their own countries.
The odds of being attacked by knife or any other deadly weapon in Europe has always, until recently, been pretty low. It happened, but it was fairly rare compared to say, inner city violence in the U.S. But now, deadly violence is becoming an accepted fact of life in Europe.
Used to be, your biggest worry when traveling to Europe was getting pick-pocketed. No more. Europe is rife with soft targets and each and everyone will be exploited unless you hand radical islam it’s own ass and make it an embarrassment to associate with those groups. And the only way to do that is to defeat them with overwhelming force and make it look easy.
The Irish and UK underground has somewhat of an accord with the police. Keep the violence in house, and don’t escalate the tools used. Not sure if it will last, sadly.
I can’t help but chuckle–it sounds like such a British thing to do. I do hope it lasts, for everyone’s sake.
It’s falling down, to be honest. Without GCHQ, I have no doubt the UK would have had several major terrorist attacks by now. Genteel policing is fast becoming a thing of the past.
Very good article not exactly about International Jihadis, but how the Obama Administration ruined relations with the Muslim world. One could also throw Syria, Iraq & Libya in there for a good measure to further drive home the point.
I am pretty confused about the motivation for these attacks in America and Europe. The perpetrators are trying to avenge the deaths of ISIS members in Syria and Iraq and punish the nations allied in the so-called coalition.
The point which Western Governments should drive home and is seemingly lost on the terrorists themselves is…ISIS is being bombed because they started a war by killing Western hostages. They are being killed because of something they brought on themselves and they have the nerve to cry about it? Insanity.
And something Obama supporters keep bringing up about his so-called coalition against ISIS…“remember the majority of the people ISIS are killing are Muslim”, “remember the ones who are doing the main fighting against ISIS are Muslim”.
True, but it’s the Kurds and the Shia (allies of the Russia). Where’s Obama’s so-called coalition ISIS? Where’s the UAE, The Saudis, the Sunni Iraqis, the Turks and the Jordanians? Until I see them on the front lines, this coalition’s a joke.
So there has been a gas attack in Syria. Those of you who do not want to see the US go to war, what should we now do? Obama issued a red line barring the Syrian Government from using chemical weapons in the civil war. It was hailed as a huge success as chemical weapons were taken out of Syria by the Russians. But now what? Syria has crossed the red line, do you think we should go to war? Should we bomb Syrian, Russian forces and Iranian proxies?
Lets see their excuses now.
