How bad will yoga or any other kind of intense stretching affect mass gains?
What are some good ways to get into cardiovascular shape withour participating in catabolic exercise? Are meltdown training and high rep breathing squats the best way to go? Will renegade rope training prove to be too catabolic (I hope not, I love jumping rope)?
I’ve heard that partial squats are good for devoping the vastus lateralis and deep squats are good for developing the vastus medialis. Is there any merit to this? My outer thighs are pathetic, and I only squat deep. Should I try partial squats?
Ive recently realized that the human body is capable of a lot more than i thought. dont be afraid of doing some cardio. Just dont start running marathons.
If anything I would think that yoga would improve your mass gains. Stretching muscle tissue can aid in recuperation and increase blood flow.
I am doing Meltdown training now and it’s more taxing than anything I’ve done. Renegade rope training should be OK because it’s interval style.
I do deep squats as well and haven’t had the need to focus on adding mass in specific areas of the legs. I just focus on pushing myself and using more weight in good form. The variety of squats techniques should be incorporated regularly regardless.
If anything the Yoga will improve your mass gains. Everyone should be doing some type of stretching program as it will pay off in the long run. One neat little thing I’ve used in the past that i’ve noticed has some benefits for conditioning without catabolism is taking a very hot sauna. I know it’s a lazy mans way out but I like it for getting the joints warm and for recovery. Although you’re not moving you will burn calories like crazy and increase HR substantially.
