Incline Press Carryover

I have converted my routine in the spirit of the “One a day lift” article. I do a Squat Day, Chin Up Day (with Rows as an assistance), Press Day, then Dead day.

So my question is, will Incline Press have any carryover to Military Press? If i stick primarily with bench press I don’t want to have a 300+bench press but can’t lift nothing overhead. So pondering if Incline Press will give me a middle ground.

Thoughts. Suggestions.

I don’t think it will regress much, but I don’t think you’ll get a significant carry over.

You could always alternate between the incline and the military/push-press every couple of weeks or so.

I currently go heavy on push-press once a week and moderate (6reps+) on incline every week, then I’ll switch the two rep ranges for them.

I’ve been seeing constant progress in both. Although I am not doing just the one lift / day.

Currently my Incline Day looks like this:

3x6 Incline, Warmup
9x3 Incline, Main
3x6 Incline, Close Grip

A possibility is to ditch the close grips and make them military press.

why not add a day and do overhead and flat bench?

I only commit to working out for 4 days. I can’t justify adding another day just for bench press and military if I am already doing incline. So within a day just for presses I am trying to suit the best lift for chest, but also want to get in shoulders.
