If Your State Seceded

I don’t want to derail the thread so no need to reply to this but you are the first American that speaks of animals for what they are.

I moved to America 8 months ago and this is the third culture I come to be a guest in.

I find it disturbing the indoctrination that the pet industry has done, survived and thrived on
( by capitalizing on peoples emotions.), namely, that pets are like a member of the human family and have equal importance to being “like a child.”

It is almost unbelievable that a country which can be a killing machine, has no problem going abroad or fighting within and ending human life, has domesticated animals to the point of being domesticated in return.

The principle remains; what goes around comes around.

FWIW, I agree with this post. A whole bunch.[/quote]

I agree and disagree. I love my pets, but still treat them like what they are, pets. BUT some animals are, in-fact, worth more than some humans.

Nothing the matter then enjoying animals being animals. A pet is an animal, and they add pleasure given we have the space for them to still be in their animal nature ( some indoor pets weirdly start resembling their owners.).

An animal it is not a tool for special bonding that you did not get with mommy, or girlfriends/boyfriends or husband/wife, or others in your social group.

With regards animals being more worth then some humans, well, a pair of shoes is worth more then some humans.

No need to cop out ( like many do.) and use pets as a substitute for unconditional love on the grounds that some of our own species are unlovable and unredeemable.

That is when your rational brain should be able to say that such humans need to be put down like a pet that is badly injured and not necessarily that a pet is more valuable than a human.

It is us that give value to the things we value.

You are again, inadvertently displaying proof of what separates animals from human.
No pet of yours would consider you more valuable then another in their own species all things being equal.
( If they had the free will not to be castrated and could go off with a mate of their own kind, for example.)

They love ( value ) you because you are in ownership, and therefore control of their existence.

This resembles people who like to be fed/ cared for/led by the government ( allow themselves to be domesticated by the government… pet people?)…

The theme of ownership rises up again.

If you do not own yourself, who owns you?

( Your pet, your government, your union, etc…)

Double Douce I love your catch!

I am buying my fishing license today and can’t wait to hunt my first fish!

Ownership is simply a statement about who has sole use to some distinct property claim.

My life is my own and I have sole use over my free will.

I don’t have a licenses, I have a lake. =0)

Hunting isn’t a term normally applied to fishing by the way.

You are once again only stating your conclusion and not providing evidence for it.

I am a guest in this country by marriage and will be obedient and get the license for fishing that the state requires…

:frowning:

I agree hunting is not associated with fishing but the primordial instinct to go out and catch my meal was what I was trying to rekindle.
I want to go hunting big time, also.

Needles to say, I can’t wait to buy my first velvet revolver…

Isn’t ones body a distinct property?

Don’t worry, the hunting thing was cute. But if you want to hunt, I’d recommend something bigger than a .38. A 38 might stop an angry charging squirrel.

Yes. I use it and none else can except by force, coercion, or my consent.

Well, catching up, this thread was interesting.

Already chewed gum is worth more than some humans.

As to the topic I would most likely sit out the fight and take care of my family unless there was a compelling moral reason to fight such as ending slavery.

LOL! A fucking .38 snub nose for hunting? The squirrel would have to be about 10 feet away and standing perfectly still.

x2. But .38 is more than enough for hunting. Ive used far less for taking down hogs, deer, and axis deer. Sorry, back to topic.

I LOL at everybody who joked about the squirrel!

Obviously, I was going to practice shotting on small animals being I have never even held a gun before.

To go back to topic, how many of you posting here about seceding actually own guns and shoot and would feel confident enough to take up a gun to fight either for:

1.Self and family
2.State
3.Country

I am specifically curious about this because American society has changed and I see specially boys and men spend more time watching WWE, playing wii, and petting the bunny.

Realistically, how many of you are confident and equipped to go out in the heat of the moment should you hear on the news your state was seceding today?

Please consider practicing shooting at non-living targets first. And get an experienced shooter to teach you how to handle a weapon.

I own guns and have been in the position of pointing it at another human being. Fortunately (for both of us) he did what I told him to and left me alone. However I did experience the strong aversion to killing a member of my own species I’ve been told is common to most animals (including humans).

So for the me the heat of the moment wouldn’t be the act of secession. It would be the instant I’m forced to protect my own life or that of my family.

To specifically answer your question: I’m a good shot, so I’m confident and I’m armed, but I’d be reluctant in the extreme. Killing living things is difficult and unpleasant.

No shit. I use a .22 for hunting rabbits. But it isn’t a fucking snub nosed handgun for fuck’s sake. It’s a rifle. Back to topic.

Damn Pusshy, one of those critters is a jackass, I just can’t tell if it’s the one with the ears or the one with the mustache. Might be both.

My 13 y/o girl’s stirrups are lower than that, whoever boosted you up there and took the pic was playing a pretty mean joke on you. Or maybe it’s a pic of a midget and a big jackass, I can’t tell.
