Idaho Woman Attacked by Wolf

Of course it works that way – even with ungulates and especially with predators as they seem to be more intelligent.
All right, I will shoot a centipede, but I doubt the others will learn the lesson.

Maybe I will shank the little fucker, just so that the others know.

So if you shoot wolves from a helicopter, wouldn’t that just make them afraid of helicopters?

Honest question, because I don’t think that dogs understand complex relationships like people in helicopters. Kind of like dogs chasing cars- they aren’t chasing the people in the car so much as they are chasing the big foreign object that is moving. Helicopters are great for covering ground and as a shooting platform, but it seems like the object would nullify the action.

Maybe if they used a helicopter as a spotter and had people on ATV or horse back come in it would be more effective at putting a fear of humans into them.

but it’s way more fun and badass to slaughter animals from a helicopter.

Oh God that’s what I was just thinking…

I would challenge anyone that thinks man is the Alpha of this world to swim across the Nile.

Will Csulli be there to follow along in a boat so that he can pull the brain scrambling maneuver on any hippos or crocs that get to close?

Edit: Agree with your statement. I have said numerous times that it is a very arrogant and foolish view that seems to be parroted endlessly during shark week and on other nature shows that a predator that is obviously vastly superior to us when we don’t hold the technological advantage would not consider us a food source. All this “mistaken identity, sharks don’t bite people on purpose” crap is just plain arrogance on the part of someone who proves that they do not understand their place in the world.

It’s a different kind of badass fun for sure but yep, still badass and fun!

It would also be badass and fun to hunt wolves with a spear or even a Swiss Army knife but it might not be as effective as the villagers were hoping.

And now that you mention it, it would’ve been way more fun and badass for the US military to have hunted the Taliban in Afghanistan with spears or Swiss Army knives too.
That analogy will make sense when wolves start using Ak47’s to shoot back. Good attempt at being clever tho.

Not a good attempt at all. You give him too much credit.

Depends. If a dog sees “his” child getting kidnapped and put in a vehicle he will chase it because of who is in it.

Lol, my comments excluded csulli.

Ya, they “mistakenly” thought we were dinner, but decided not to eat us after discovering we taste funny.

Gustave disagrees that man is Alpha.

Great read.
If you catch the documentary on the capture of the salt water croc Lalong it is def worth a watch. Gustave supposedly has died of natural causes and hasn’t been seen in years. Lalong died last year in captivity I beleive

I feel like the people of India and SE Asia have a much better grasp on exactly how “dominant” they are over the rest of the animal kingdom than we do. Between salt-water crocs, the numerous tiger habitats and bull sharks, I am pretty sure they realize that we are no more dominant than any other pray if we don’t have a tool to even the playing field.

X2 on the lolong documentary its really interesting. There’s a Gustave one that’s good too.

Lolong did die pretty recently.

Just read this thread. All I can say is WOW. Some real num nut comments. Just so some of ya’ know–the strain of wolves that were native to this area ARE NOT the strain that was re-introduced. They re-introduced the Canadian Grey which is a lot bigger and more aggressive.

I’m surprised there are any Canucks alive considering that is where all those big super aggressive wolves came from. Oh wait, that is the same strain as here except we have twice as many. With zero attacks on humans.
