i shook my head in shame…pf gives the fitness industry a bad name…and all that free “fast food” wtf, there just aiding the obease epidemic
Giving away bagels, donuts, pizza and whatever else ensures their customers will keep coming back to “work off those pounds… Quietly.”
Come on its for bulking.
I’d just like to point out that the “Judgment Free Zone” is judgmental. It says in their commercials something like “skip the meathead gyms” and shows a guy kissing his biceps with a circle with a line through it. How fucking judgmental is that shit?
the fucking pizza and bagel and candy shit is actually true?!?! wow!!! just wow!!! so about that video 1st of all that bitch or repoter has a butterface so . . . . . i dnot think i should continue with what else i have to say about her and at 2:23 ish the “personal trainer” said something like “we at planet fitness like to use a lean body approach to fitness” or some shit like that,
hahaha “lean body” obviously this dude hasnt heard of the valsalva maneuver or something like that, all i know is that that actually helps a person push more weight
o yea about the valsalva maneuver, a lot of people say that it is not a good thing to because it increases blood pressure, and some other shit, well just think about it, if a person is doing a heavy lift, lets say a heavy bench press for example, if that shit is real heavy that person just might hold their breath on the last rep just to give it all they got and get it past the sticking point, but then when they exhale it might come out as a grunt for some people or a deep breath or a hissing sound, point being people hold their breath when grinding out the last rep of a set or so cause they are actually fucking lifting, not being fucking cardio bunnies and doing circut training of some “curves” inspired weight machines
What if you exhale loudly and someone sets the alarm off. It startles you and drop the weight and injure yourself. LAWSUIT. I can;t wait, i’m honestly surprised they haven’t been sued to shit already. It’ll take one time for a muscular lawyer to get thrown out and that will start the collapse of the chain.

I can only imagine someone does a rep of shoulder presses, overhead squats, or snatches when that alarm goes off; imminent coma.
And if the pizza is all-you-can-eat for members, I second paying 10$ a month for a cheap and dirty carb-load, and never working out there in between
I’m surprised you all are calling that guy in the video a “hero.” He looks like a fool and a tool to my eyes. I’d be pretty pissed off in that situation too, but there’s no way in hell I’d start throwing shit around. He looked like a two-year-old throwing a tantrum. If I were in that gym, I’d I’ve helped kick him out myself after seeing that shit.
PF is a joke, sure. But I think it must be different for every gym. When I first moved here, I had never heard of PF, but there was one by my house and I went. The guy behind the counter who showed me around was huge (He might have been the owner). Sure, he was fat, but he had put up some serious weight in his day. Just looking at him I knew I could learn from him. I specifically mentioned deadlifts and squats and he sounded fine with it. I remember discussing the pros and cons to lifting at home. So maybe some PFs are worse than others? I don’t really know though, because I never ended up signing up (bought some equipment for my garage and had a membership at my school). Maybe he was just being nice to get the sale.
You know, I think Planet Fitness is a great idea. All of the people who aren’t serious about ever making progress can go there and leave the rest of us alone. I empathise with the forum members who have to go there for any reason.

Is the pizza all-you-can-eat on “Pizza Night?”
Because if so, $10 is pretty damn good for all-you-can eat Pizza, even if it was only once a month. Could you, theoretically just come in and eat a shitload of pizza and leave?
Yes, and there are boxes, and boxes, and boxes of them…
But do you eat a shit load of pizza?
I get a decent workout in PF… But it’s in rough neighborhood and some of the locals got some size on them… Usually light bulbs, but they’re still moving decent weights…
I’ve done dead’s for months there, only comment was manager asking me to use collars as it was really crowed.
Why you might ask???
Very close to work so I can lift on lunch, AND only $20/month…

Think of the bright side though. You have a gym that lures all the unmotivated, physcially insecure people away from the proper gyms. Now us mean, judgemental, angry lunks can have proper training and not have to worry about unproductive people occupying gym space.
The unlimited free pizza and bagels? Brrrrilliant idea! Just the bait you need to round up the obese cattle into the “JudgementFree Zone”. Almost makes me wish we had these gyms north of the border.

So tonight I set off the lunk alarm at planet fitness for doing deadlifts, not even heavy weights. Got in an argument with the manager and made him refund my membership. It was pretty funny.
What the hell is a lunk alarm??
:)
If you’re stupid enough to pay to work out at Planet Fitness, the Lunkhead Alarm automatically goes off.
