Well now thats just unfair.
Everytime i walk out of petsmart after making that 5 dollar donation at checkout to the ASPCA, i sit in my truck and give a good cry for a solid 10 minutes. I stop short of calling my mom, but thats probably because i have my pup there to comfort me.
Yeah but thats kinda bullshit ‘im not looking for props, i dont want any1 to tell me i did a good thing, i give to millions of charity’s all the time and i helped homless people’
What response were you actually looking for?
Do good deeds, thats great, then move on. Since when was holding the fucking door for someone classed as a good deed? are we that low now that holding a door is classed as something great instead of something instinctive?

I am going to summon up my inner Dr Skeptix here and share the words of Maimonides, which he shared with me just a few weeks ago, on this very subject. Ahem.
The Eight Levels of Charity
(In order from greatest to least)
Support a needy person by endowing him with a gift or loan, or entering into a partnership with him, or finding employment for him, in order to strengthen his hand until he need no longer be dependent upon others.
Give to the poor without knowing to whom one gives, and without the recipient knowing from who he received.
Know to whom one gives, but the recipient does not know his benefactor.
Do not know to whom one gives, but the poor person does know his benefactor.
Give to the poor person directly into his hand, but give before being asked.
Give to the poor person after being asked.
Give only a little, but give gladly and with a smile.
Give grudgingly.
Waittz scored a five on the Maimonides scale. That’s pretty good. If he’d found the lady a job (or perhaps a husband), he’d have scored a one.

I agree, which is why I said that…in the original post.
Two points I want to make, first anyone who is percieving my intent to share this in anyway other than what I chose as the reason, understand that it is your opinion, not the actual reason why I posted. Nothing will change that fact. You wanting or thinking I did it for any reason other than the actual reason I chose, doesn’t make it so. It’s just the way you chose to from your opinion on it. Again please read the second paragraph.
Second, doing something good for a selfish reason still results in a good deed done. I wish it that sense more people were selfish and would give to charity just to get a moral boner out of it, why? Because more giving would come from it. In fact this is how I first got into donating to my regular charity, to feel good about doing it and passive aggressively show it off by hanging the calendar they sent me in my office. That was a few years ago, I matured a bit and guess what, they still receive money from me every month that goes to a great cause. So lets just say I only did this last night to brag on a weight lifting forum to people I have never met and may never will…yeah…a family still got help last night.
So you can choose to think I shared to boast, or shared because as I revealed just before about Dmaddox, that you will remember the story and make a good decision when presented with the opportunity. That is your choice, I already made mine.

Only the fucking idiots here would turn your story into something negative. That’s why they have an ignore button.

He didn’t “hold a door open”. He bought a poor family groceries. He also shared it and has probably ispired/reminded some of the people who read his story to step up and do something to help those in need. That kinda thing moves our planet in a positive direction. Something it sorely needs.
Why don’t you take your negativity and hit the bricks, pal?

That is a pretty cool list Varq, but I’m pretty sure I did a 6, she did have a sign asking for help.

Iike I said I have no control over how someone chooses to view my story, it is after all their choice. That being said, it works both ways and I get to choose to view their intent how I want.

Lol what a big cry baby bitch.
If your profile is to be believed though it’s not your fault. Anyone who is 6’6" and 188lbs must have sky high estrogen to achieve a twink status that epic. I believe we have a sub-forum here where you can seek help.

Oh c’mon, how boring would this thread be if everyone just dropped by to say, “how nice, you’re going to heaven for sure!”

my log ------>
Brother … All I can say is - before having children, I probably wouldn’t even have noticed that scene. Since having kids, I’m hyper sensitive to kids in need / harms way. My greatest fear is not being able to provide for my family / children.
The fact that you not only noticed, but acted in a generous and gracious way, is a testament to your character. I would not have been so aware or sensitive to that situation at your age. You’re a good man.
I’m sure when Mom hung up the phone, she smiled to herself and thought “job well done.”

To not cry is to be a pussy.
There’s a man standing on the corner
With a sign sayin “will work for food”
You know the man
You see him every morning
The one you never give your money to
You can sit there with your window rolled up
Wondering when the lights going to turn green
Never knowing what a couple more bucks
In his pocket might mean
What if he’s an angel sent here from heaven
And he’s making certain that you’re doing your best
To take the time to help one another
Brother are you going to pass that test
You can go on with your day to day
Trying to forget what you saw in his face
Knowing deep down it could have been his saving grace
What if he’s an angel

You cannot judge him; for he is justice itself!
