In all honesty, can anyone name a war that the americans won on their own without the help of the British? I’m sure they’ll have invaded some South American country at some point and claimed that as a victory. Awaiting your answers…
The Revolutionary War?
No, the Revolutionary War was won by an ex-pat faction of the British population, together with a number of European settlers who were descendents of a group of people fleeing religious persecution. The American nation was not yet constituted at that point. Try again.

I think we’re through the looking glass now. This is the first time I’ve ever heard someone say that the Americans were not defeated in Vietnam. Historical Revisionism: the Yanks do it best. Yee haa.

Soooo, we’re arguing semantics now?
I didn’t read any of the text in this thread. But the pictures made me lol.

Lets not allow this to turn into Brits vs Yanks.
We are one in the same.
Besides i hate what Britain has become and I’m sure a lot of you don’t agree with your nation either.

No, it’s not semantics, it’s called history.
Still waiting to be told which war America won without any British assistance.

Its obvious that we work well together.
However… It is also obvious that no side likes to admit we equally need each other.
Britain does not have the man power nor resources America has but one things for sure our strategists are amongst the best(SAS is second to none).
America and Britain are brothers but one always has to claim greatness over the other.
Edit: Besides Pretty soon the Brits and American combined will be dwarfed by china and Russian and other eastern powers so i think maybe its time to settle our differences.
Spanish American War.
How has England done militarily since the 1900’s?
Edit- Should have read Animal Within’s post before I wrote mine, right on point man.

Americans purposely changed certain English grammatical structures to separate themselves from the British after the Revolutionary War, hence the spelling difference in words like Labor, Color, and Center. Also Americans just love slang, and speak horribly in general.
Can we please drop this romanticized view of Europe. They speak just as fucking terrible as any other place in the world. The States are not some miracle land of freedom nor are they this cesspool of ignorance as so many have implied.

That’s one of the funniest posts I’ve read on this website.
This has always pissed me off and it’s pissing me off even more now that I hear people in Ireland say it.How do people think it makes any sense whatesoever??

Because the person who perpetuates this view is probably fat and definitely lazy.
Lazy in the way that they have not bothered to take a sample of Americans and have deep conversation with them. then tally up the inbred ignorant people with the down to earth highly capable then take an average before they make this un-empirical statement.
Besides i wholeheartedly respect the American strength based industry and alike. I mean i bet the majority of quality books on most T-Nationers shelves are written by an american or somebody who has spent time training in America.

All of the ones we won before your country existed (which would be 99% of them). Not having a go at Americans, this is a dumb thread though, arguing over military victories and grammar.

This has always kind of confused me so I’m going to finally ask. Why do people, predominantly Americans (a small observation I made) say “I could care less” when trying to illustrate the point that they don’t give a shit. Here in England we say “I couldn’t care less”. If you could care less, then it implies that you care at least on some level, therefore giving a shit. If you couldn’t care less then you don’t care about it in the slightest. So how come so many people say “I could care less”? Are they just idiots, is it slang or is there something I’m missing? I’m not perfect at grammar either so this is why I ask.
Cuz fuck you dude.
America…fuck yeah!
I hate you for making me laugh at something you said … zip yer shirt up hippy
