Unfortunately, mold fucks everything up for those susceptible, including sleep. I’m basically treading water with my hormones trying to keep things within acceptable ranges. My homocysteine is high, cd57 is low, tgf-beta is high, MSH is low, ldl-p is high. Better sleep will certainly help with the healing that needs to occur.
Would changing to more frequent injections lower DHT? I do 70 mg t cyp E3D. Possibly change to EOD or even ED? Again, my DHT is at 133 (30 - 85). Not aggressive, no acne, not overly hairy, and already have lost my head hair. Other labs in my recent posts if that helps answer my DHT question.
Just wondering if EOD might be an overall better strategy regardless of effect on DHT. If so, and considering my other lab ranges provided in recent posts, what mg amount should I try?
Maybe I should have asked the previous post differently. 70 mg X 10 = 700 mg/month. 46 mg X 15 = 690 mg/month. When you inject more frequently, for example going from E3D to EOD, do you still aim for the same total amount? Or can you do less total and still maintain lab numbers? Considering making the switch to EOD. Just wondering if I should do 46 mg EOD or if I can drop even further.
This is pretty good. Hope I’m not violating some rule about adding links from other forums…
The only things I have read about on having very high DHT is hair loss, back acne and high/excessive libido. Defy will prescribe T cyp subQ and compounding cream for your balls to increase DHT.
I don’t think more frequent injections would change your DHT by very much. I get the whole more frequent shots reduces peaks in T however IMO some on these forum members have taken that a bit to far. ESP with T E and Cyp with their 7-9 day half life. I believe there is lots of placebo effects happening. I don’t see many blood test backing their positions.
My SHGB is 22 and I have no issues injecting T cyp twice a week(60mg x 2/wk) I tried EOD back when I was a newbie and did not know some men just like playing doctor on them selves and the more they can stick themselves the higher their internet doctors degree gets. haha
I wanted to ask about this mold. Is this the green/black stuff we see growing on sheetrock that has gotten wet from rain or a flood? I have seen on TV that can be really bad and you say it moves and grows in your body once exposed?
I have had SHBG run twice, 26.1 and 30.7. I believe the thinking on that ExcelMale article was the lower your SHGB, the more likely that more frequent doses at the same total T, the more likely that your levels would rise, possibly too high. Not sure if this is true across the board or not since everyone is unique. I did enjoy their discussion of half-lives though.
I’m wondering if I should ask doc to go back on hcg. Pretty sure I have had some shrinking of my balls. Do most folks on hormones do the hcg?
Been a while since I have been on the forum. Noticed KSman is no longer contributing. I know he was pretty opinionated, but he did try to help a lot of folks. His iodine protocol did not help me and I came to the realization he was maybe off on trying to get everyone’s E down around 22 which did not make sense to me. Still hate that he is no longer on.
On the mold, yeah it’s basically water damaged buildings and black mold is a common problem, although it’s not limited to black mold. Probably not good for anyone to be around it, but genetics will determine how well you can clear it from your body. Mold puts out mycotoxins and if you have unfavorable HLA genes, it can be hard to get it out of your body. In some people, it gets in you and your immune system does not flag it as foreign so it’s stays in you and disrupts a lot of shit. Google “mold and Shoemaker” if you suspect issues with it.
I don’t visit NVs site anymore. The bullying of new members over there from a couple older members was too much and seeing their mods have no clue how to moderate I just quit going. This forum has a lot more active discussions on all aspects of mens health, TRT and a little more plus members here are just more fun to talk to.
I always liked reading his posts but I never took any of his advice. Just like I don’t take the advice of the current “Who Said of the Greatest Magnitude” My PCP sent me down his road back in 2015 and it F’d me up.
I’ve been doing this long enough and have experimented on myself enough with countless blood tests backup or squash my theories. I pretty much just come here for the friendships one makes in this hobby. I offer and share what I have learned but I am the first to state I am no doctor and I don’t try to play one on the internet.
HCG has so many good and bad stories. Some say it did nothing others say they went insane on it others say wow where have you been all my life.
I’m in that camp. I have had great results using HCG. In fact when I run out by not paying attention to my stocks it is no time and I get a dull ache in my testis in time they will start to retract up toward my body and I will get sharp stabing pains every now and then. I have tried 500iu/wk 800iu/wk and 1500 ius/wk. 500 was like not using at all 800 is perfect for me. I add 400iu (.40ml) to my Tcyp syringe and inject at the same time.
Yep, understand on the bullying. Never good. I had not picked up on that on Nelson’s. I don’t go there often, only when a Google search turns up something I want to read.
I do enjoy this forum very well. I wish hormones were my only issue so I could focus solely on that and try to get dialed in. I do not believe that will be possible until I solve these other things.
Appreciate your replies, hrdlvn!
HRT is but one piece of the pie. I really feel if you can get your hormones dialed in, not perfect, but closer to what you were in your 30s it will help you heal faster as you troubleshoot your other issues.
When my family now in their 80’s say “getting old isn’t for the faint of heart or sissies” I had no idea. Man am I learning now just how scary that journey is.
Yep, I understand on getting old. I’ll be 52 next month and I already don’t like it!
Geez, I just read some disturbing things about saw palmetto causing ED and libidos issues. I’m not going to take that ProState by metabolic maintenance any more. Can’t believe my doc prescribed it. I would rather lower my testosterone some if that’s what it takes to get DHT down. As far as I can tell, I have no negatives from the DHT at 133. Just afraid that supplement will introduce more problems than it solves.
Very true and frustrating.
LMAO
Back when I was trying to fix/help my BPH I tried the Super Beta Prostate crap they sell on TV it is basicly saw palmetto. I tried it for 3 months and it did nothing for my bladder issues. I never knew it was prescribed for high DHT.
Honestly if your hair is not falling out by the handfulls, your back is not loaded with acne and you are not chasing your wife around the hours every 2 hours for sex I would not worry about the 133 DHT.
Do you think the DHT is connected to your issue with mold?
I know mold issues mess with hormones, but have not read anything that singles out DHT. I have a follow-up with doc later this month so I’ll ask more questions as to why she is worried about it. I know mold issues can make you pee too frequently. Believe it is related to melanocyte stimulation hormone (MSH), but I have not stumbled on a connection to DHT. I believe MSH problems interfere with sleep too so likely part of my problem.
I’ve seen these charts before. It is interesting how everything converts to something else.
So there isn’t crap on TV and I am board with my current video game so I spent the last hour looking over your bloods posted above.
Dam man you should just be healthy as a horse. You numbers since you started HRT just look great. The only thing that I thought you might consider. I had issues supplementing DHEA and Pregnenolone. Raising my numbers did not make me feel better. I felt much better not supplementing.
Yeah I’m just doing the 25 mg of DHEA now. Back when I suspected adrenal problems I starting doing the pregnenolone. I don’t think I noticed any improvement as far as feeling better. I was doing 100 mg for a pretty good stretch. Appreciate you having a look!
My NMR Lipoprofile worries me. I have a more recent set of labs where again my small ldl-p was too high. Not sure how many people know it, but the regular cholesterol check is bogus.
I love advanced warfare on my ps4. I believe it is the best game out of all of the ones they have put out. My son just got the new black opps 4. I will be interested to hear if it is any good.
