more bang for my buck. As a guy I can state this is a good thing for me. If I was a woman however I’d be very cautious, the difference between say 50 and 100mg primo/wk etc might make or break my femininity!
What was your protocol for that? Did you see good results? I’m considering running something like that after I let the GH settle.
I did:
140mg test weekly + 25mg Var daily
240mg test weekly + 50mg Var daily
175mg test weekly + 25mg Var daily
First one ate at maintenance, gained 1lbs a week
Second one ate at surplus gained 8lbs
Third one cutting, scale didn’t move much but abs started to show
It’s my favorite scripted oral so far. Only thing I notice is my SHBG crashes and if I don’t take my test daily or EOD I’ll get side effects
Any concentration over 250 has given me PIP not worth the effort. This is a hobby not who can stand the most pain from their UGL’s concoctions.
Does SHBG go back to baseline for you after a while?
How bad is the hit on your lipids/kidneys on those dosages?
I got it scripted also through my clinic, compounded pharma. it’s just waiting in my medicine cabinet, begging to be consumed, and I’m growing impatient haha
NO your SHGB will not go back to anything resembling normal until you stop playing with AAS’s and exceeding your TRT dose. Been there doing that.
How bad does Anavar hit your lipids? A lot enough to alarm your TRT doctor. It did mine and I am only taking 20mg/day. Some here say at that level you gain nothing. For me I notice a difference so we are back to everyone is different.
IMO if you are new to this then small doses do grant you an advantage.
However some of these guys play with much bigger toys so they feel nothing at our drug of choice or dose.
After 2-3 weeks, yes.
Haven’t checked, but I assume it’s pretty bad. I always bounce back tho, same 2-3 week timeframe
Edit: Kidneys I don’t “feel” any negatives, I’m sure labs take a hit tho
Thanks for the info.
My SHBG is really high naturally. On my last labs at 18mg/day Test C, my TT came back at 1500ng/dL but FT only 24ng/dL. I didn’t test SHBG but clearly it’s still very high (started at 80nmol/L pre-TRT).
Good to know about lipids. My HDL is very high naturally so it’ll be interesting to see how much of a hit I take.
I’m also thinking of starting low with Anavar. I’ve been working out for years but I’m completely new to AAS, including TRT, and I’m also not that heavy at 210 for 6’5, so I think a low dose could work for me. I’m always trying to make the most out of the least with this stuff, considering the downsides of higher dosages.
Thanks, that’s good to know. 2-3 weeks isn’t bad. I’ll post labs of the Anavar destruction when I pull the trigger in a few weeks
You should get some really good results from a Blast with Anavar. Not only from the gym but your SHGB should be reduced to something reasonable giving you a lot more Free T when you are just on your TRT dose. Win-Win.
Depends on the solvents used to dissolve the excess hormones ![]()
I’d tend to agree, above 300mg/ml and it feels like you’ve been kicked by a horse.
I saw a transformation photo of you over the past decade and I’d like to say… FANTASTIC job. You look like you’ve aged backwards despite being nearly seventy!
Have you ever thought about modelling/fitness modelling? Surely there’s a niche for this, it’s very unusual to see a 68 year old male with your level of conditioning.
I know ONE guy with very good genetics who is still ripped/big at age 70+. Irish guy, has been working manual labour for decades, his son is a bodybuilder.
Yeah you’ll benefit a lot from Var it sounds like. Even 10-15mg a day would lower your SHBG. My next run (while cutting) I want to try 12.5mg daily and see
I wish there were a way to permanently lower SHBG. Maybe I can run Var 5mg/day all year long or something.
@ disciplined_trt I blast twice a year for 6-8weeks. My naddy SHGB was 29 it dropped to 24 with just TRT after two years and held there until I started blasting. I have been on TRT for almost 8 years and only started blasting 4 years ago. Since the blasting my SHGB has stayed in the 15-16 range. I believe once you get your SHGB down if you stay on TRT it will stay down.
My opinion is only based on my own blood tests. I test my blood 3-5 times a year.
That would be great, but in my case I’m not sure. Before I started TRT my SHBG was 80nmol/L, extremely high.
After 3 months at 22mg/day and 7 months total on TRT, my SHBG had dropped to 45nmol/L.
My TT was 1700ng/dL and FT 37ng/dL.
Then I dropped to 18mg/day. I unfortunately didn’t test my SHBG on this protocol. However, my TT is now 1500ng/dL but my FT dropped to 24ng/dL.
In other words, my TT dropped by ~10%, but my FT dropped by almost 50%, which makes me think my SHBG must’ve gone back up a lot.
I hope I have not asked this already but have you investigated why your SHGB is so high? Googling it will scare the crap out someone.
If your SHBG levels are too high, it can be a sign of:
- Liver disease
- Hyperthyroidism, a condition in which your body makes too much thyroid hormone
- Eating disorders
- For men, it can mean a problem with the testicles or pituitary gland. The pituitary gland is located beneath the brain and controls many body functions.
Thanks for posting this. You know I remembered just a few weeks ago that I suffered a pretty serious concussion when I was 21yo, falling back in the stairs directly on the back of my head (good old college parties…).
I had headaches and felt nauseous 24/7 for 4-5 weeks straight after that. When I got tested before getting on TRT, one thing that jumped out at me was that my IGF-1 and Cortisol levels were very low, not just my Test.
I know IGF-1 is produced by the pituitary and there’s a lot of evidence now that even a single concussion can create serious dysfunction in the Hypothalamus and Pituitary, so I wonder now whether that’s what happened to me. My DHEA is also very low and after that fall I started getting more and more depressed as I got older, even though there’s 0 history of any mental illness on either side of my family.
At the time of the fall I went to the hospital (student insurance, so who knows what they really did) and I think they did a CT scan and told me I had a sports concussion and to just go home and rest.
I never investigated it beyond that, and when I saw my current anti-aging doc he just put me on Test right away, which is fine because if my Hypothalamus/Pituitary is messed up, I don’t think anything can be done besides replacing the missing hormones at this point in medical science.
Liver disease is very unlikely. ALT/AST are always very low, lipid profile is great and my diet is really on point.
TSH is 2.5 (which could even be subclinical hypo) but Free T3 is high, so we decided not to worry about Thyroid for now and went for GH instead after T. Once the GH settles down I’ll move on to DHEA and Pregnenolone, both of which are really low also for me.
I think it’s produced by the liver. Converts gh to igf-1. Gh is produced by the pituitary though. Low igf-1 often means low gh production, but you also just might not convert a lot.
I also have bottom range igf-1.
You’re right, my bad. I never tested GH directly because I think it’s just pulsed a few times a day during a short window. I’m curious how high the exogenous GH will bring me.
I’m waiting to see @blshaw results before I try it. We both are bottom range igf-1, and have both had no or negative results with peptides. It is expensive though.
