How Commonly Does TRT Unveil Thyroid Issues?

Cytomel slow release I think is typically just taken in the morning. Maybe others take it before lunch too, but I was told not to go to late because it can cause sleep issues.

If not slow release?

Mine are compounded slow release. I am not sure what you do if they are instant release. I would think most would want to try slow release to see if it works for them. I would rather just take 1 pill than a couple.

It was very hard for me to find normal release, It will be much harder to find compounded for slow release. Maybe its half life is enough?

Either will work, it’s just that one is more convenient if it works for you.

You might be able to order it.

Im trying now, I know only one compounding pharmacy in EU and they refused me

Recently three things happened:

  1. I’ve been increasingly moody, to the point I’m afraid I’m going to flip out and end up in jail or something.
  2. My TSH has been climbing, recently to 3.2, and Dr Saya requested a full thyroid panel.
  3. I noticed my mood seems to tank when I don’t take magnesium. I added a magnesium RBC test as well.

Here are the results. They seem to be good, which is a bit of a let down (was hoping to find something). What do you guys think?

Looks like nothing crazy going on but I’m definitely no expert. Have you had adrenals checked?

I have not. Something I can likely ask my GP to do to save money?

Yeah. See if you can get a Dutch Test. From what I’ve heard it’s the most accurate way to determine. If not then a 24 hrs saliva test. From I’ve read blood tests aren’t that effective as it’s just measuring that one second in time.

Just requested it. Worth a shot!

Mineral deficiencies can affect your thyroid, like iron among many. You need to find out what mineral is tanking and you may be able to correct the problem.

Keep experimenting because if you don’t correct the mineral causing the issues, down the road if thyroid treatment is prescribed, it will catch up with you.

@systemlord is right about that. Try to test vit D, iron folate & B12 (amongst others). B12 & iron made a big difference for me. Even with my b12 coming back at midrange I still supplement sublingual B12 1000mcg lozenges daily and it makes a feel f-ing amazing. Oh and get a full iron test with ferritin included.

Good call…I’ve had issues with B12 and folate in the past, at least the methylated ones. Way too stimulating even at tiny doses.

Iron has always been good - almost landed myself in some trouble supplementing it in the past.

If u cant get Dutch or saliva. Do am cortisol. ACTH. And dhea-s.
I read dhea-s May me a better way to test for adrenal insufficiency than cortisol.

Btw ur thyroid numbers look fine.

I recently found my B12 at the bottom end of the range, hard to know if it is causing problems. I supplemented for weeks and don’t think there was any difference.
