Homeschooling Thread

ours is through a charter school/academy. They have the requirements and offer virtual classes, and cal state funding goes into our ‘account’ for school supplies (including curriculum). As long as the curriculum is approved by some standard - not sure how this works, but Tuttle Twins education curriculum is approved and its DEFINITELY not woke.

As long as we meet the standards for the grade, and can prove it to the school, we’re all set.

Our curriculum goes through Cal State standards, so it’s probably quite different from where you’re at. I do believe each state sets it’s own educational standards btw.

To answer your question more directly, Online Virtual, mixed with Montessori. We kind of just fell into the Montessori style, it’s not something we aimed for - so we’re not strict on one type over the other.

We just purchased the curriculum and books from an accredited source. It was expensive, ~$2000 for the year. We are also doing a part coop where the kids go once or twice a week with other home school kids for some specific classes from real teachers.

Thanks for the responses. I am finally starting to be OK with all this. And I accept that I’m doing it because, as I see it (others don’t), we don’t live in a normal time.
