What’s with that tennis one? They didn’t put a big-ass net around it to catch the balls? From that height and speed they could literally kill someone when they hit the ground.

Terminal velocity of an average tennis ball is less than 50mph.

Probably, but it’ll still hurt like a motherfucker, something I’d like to avoid.

Yup. Part of his promotional contract for the movie has him showing up everywhere a tennis ball free falls and shoot it out of the sky.

Scared the shit out of me when I was on the roof and throwing down a few balls that had been stuck up there.

If you ever parachute out of an airplane, I’d recommend against wearing light green underpants, just to be safe.

Rumor has it that Patrick Swayze did the same thing to drum up publicity for Point Break. The only difference is that Swayze was stealing the tennis balls. Eventually, Charlie Sheen was dispatched to take his Swayze ass down and return the tennis balls to their rightful owners.

Don’t forget that we are talking about Dubai - the tennis balls are probably made from solid gold.

What are the odds of getting hit in the head by a tennis ball going fast enough to even hurt a LITTLE… 800 yards out in the OCEAN!

Oh yeah, don’t forget that the ball might get moist and freeze. Remember that story about the ice turd that killed some women?

I am surprised how no one questioned who even built that path on Mt. Huashan and how.

maybe the have a state of the art ball tracker that catches the balls in mid air and brings them back up to the player.

Is this an admission?

I that’s what I thought. It looks like the tennis court is overlooking a beach, so the balls should fall into the water (in theory). I doubt that the ball boys would survive the fall, though…

Terminal velocity. Look it up. A falling tennis ball isn’t going to kill anybody.

A falling tennis ball isn’t going to kill anybody because of a Charlie Sheen movie?

Yeah, but watching that Charlie Sheen movie almost killed me.

No. I am in awe that someone could and would build that path. I wish I could meet that person.

LOL!Terminal Velocity was so bad that the test audiences suggested the producers remake the movie without parachutes. Naturally, Charlie Sheen was reluctant. Career suicide doesn’t hurt as much as the real thing.

Legend has it that Charlie Sheen jumped out of a plane and built it on the way down.

How could I forget? I had to dispatch that stubborn little turdsicle by caesarian. I’m welling up with nostalgia here! Don’t mind me - I’m just a sentimental old fool.

Is that a fake roof in the beach picture?

I cannot tell, since there is one from what looks to be a picture from outside the facility, and then one inside with what looks to be tiles or striations across the roof.

Anyone know?[/quote]

The roof is there to protect the sunbathers from all the tennis balls.

P.S. Sorry for all the consecutive posts…
