I’m hesitant to use the word “fan” in any context, but I really dig Rollins. His music, his spoken word stuff, his thought process [at least what he’s revealed], it all really speaks to me. My mind seems to work the way his does, and his introspection helps me in/through my own self realizations. His openness and honesty are incredibly impressive.
I like what he says, but I’m not very fond of his voice at all. Sort of nerdy/snobby.
I judge voices on a Stewart/Foster scale. That’s Patrick Stewart (great voice) to Jodie Foster (worst voice imaginable).
A perfect score of 1.0 Stw is contrasted by a 1.0 Fos.
I’d give Rollins a 0.6 Fos.
Hes the type of guy that I’d like to have as a co-worker at like a Machine shop or an Auto Shop but I’d hate to be his friend. The guy is way too intense. Hes fascinating nonetheless.
