half way ??? your 128 lbs… go all in man and FUCKING EAT…
Something else to consider here - maybe address the “digestive issues”. If there’s truly something not right in your gut, be it dysbiosis, a FODMAP sensitivity or malabsorption - if you don’t put some effort into identifying and solving the root cause of your inability to digest your food things may get worse before they get better. At the end of the day weight gain is going to be a struggle with a compromised gut.
thanks for the reply.
i considered that. i have come to the conclusion that i do not have any digestive issues.
i think it boils down to my size and fasting. i have been using IF as a tool since i started my journey. in fact after going back 6 years and looking at the food pics i captured my meals were fairly small. no way i was taking in more than 2lbs per food per day.
i just have to slowly raise my meal sizes.
Considering your dietary habits: How do you train? If I had problems eating enough, I would adjust my training accordingly, in order to save muscle.
i hear you. my training is not too bad. i have always gained strength. i just have a hard time gaining size.
Are you still using Intermittent Fasting?
yes sir. i used the leangains method until about 1 year ago. 16/8. once i got leaned out i switched to a 10hr feed, 14hr fast.
i do not use it to loose weight. i use it because its more of a habit. i was never really a dinner person. dinner just does not work for me. i am rarely hungry at night.
i also do not stick a certain number of meals. i eat over a 10hr window and thats all. its simple and easy to follow. in fact on my refeed days i fast even longer to prevent myself from over doing it. if i give my self enough time on a refeed day i will do a lot of damage.
I don’t mean this to come off cross, but I think your solution is right in front of you here. If you’re able to ‘bulk’ with enough time and you intend to gain weight - I think you should consider dropping the IF restriction altogether. Outside of a slight boost to insulin sensitivity from IF (really the only benefit of IF), I think absolving you from this calorie intake window will solve your problem.
Not saying to never do it again, but merely during ‘bulking’ phases, it might not be the best solution for you. I also don’t think IF was ever intended to be used for bulking purposes, for exactly the reasons you’ve described in this thread.
Thank you. I do not use it for restriction, per se. I just do not have a huge appetite afternoon. I might need to slowly get there.
I thought about that. I realize I can not have the best of both worlds. I do want to gain some weight and was hoping i could get in enough calories during my window.
Your right. I have to consider giving it up. For me it is a tough choice. I am not a big eater after work.
I am being respectful and honest here. Thank you again for your reply.
Really?? what do you bench and deadlift?
At you age I would keep doing what your doing/do whatever is best for your energy for career and responsibilities etc and then one day a month do something like this below:
I would also look into workout nutrition like Plazma or essential aminos/watered down whey isolate
