Help Deal With An Ass

Depending on your ISP, you may be able to automatically block any e-mail from this guy.

Your telephone company may offer some ways to block any future phone calls from his number.

Block him out, and forget it.

I have had so many people on ebay bid on an item, promise to pay, and then dissappear off the face of the earth. He was rude and out of line with his comments, but the bottom line is you did not keep your word and to make matters worse, instead of admitting your were wrong and concluding the deal you escalated the aggression. Forgetting doesn’t absolve you of a committment. Be a man and take your medicine.

Redbands…

Although you didn’t pay him on time, this joker is being entirely inappropriate and improfessional. He does not deserve a single penny for being so un-businesslike. He should be banned from ebay…you be the professional and report him via the proper ebay and legal channels. Generally, there are laws, for example, that are puninitive for any bill collectors who become verbally abusive or who are overbearing or harassing…they are required to go through proper channels as well in order to resolve any problems. Even though a salesperson/bill collector, etc. may be angry, they still may not personally attack a customer or say such incredibly inappropriate things. Rather, they must continue to behave in an objective, businesslike and professional manner in conducting their affairs. For your and your childrens’ own safety, continue to document the harassment and set the limit on his behavior right away and don’t allow it to go any further. Good luck!!

Here’s some information on Cyberstalking laws by state (Perhaps BostonBarrister could offer his insight to this situation):

HERE’S SOME EBAY INFORMATION/RULES:

EBAY USER AGREEMENT:
“…your activities on the Site shall not…violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation…be defamatory, trade libelous, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing…be obscene…”

EBAY RULES FOR EVERYBODY: “There are rules that all eBay users, both buyers and sellers, need to know and follow. These rules are created to protect you and to keep eBay a safe place to buy, sell, and participate in the community…”

PROFANITY: “eBay policy prohibits the use of language that is racist, hateful, sexual or obscene in nature…”

EMAIL THREATS: "eBay policy prohibits user-to-user threats of physical harm.
Threats of bodily harm should be immediately reported to your local law enforcement authorities. In addition to contacting law enforcement, you should consider contacting your local phone company if the threat was made via telephone and the other member’s Internet Service Provider (ISP) if the threat was made through email communication. If you received a threat of bodily harm through email, please report it to eBay. We need the full header of any email you send as evidence because it enables us to trace the pathway of the email. You can review what a header is and how to locate it. If you have trouble finding the email header, we suggest that you visit SpamCop, a site that contains information on how to obtain headers for many email clients. If, through the email evidence you provide, we confirm a serious threat of physical harm was made, the offending member’s account will be indefinitely suspended.

BREACH: “Without limiting other remedies, we may limit your activity, immediately remove your bids or item listings, warn our community of your actions, issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if: (a) you breach this Agreement or the documents it incorporates by reference; (b) we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us; or (c) we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us.”
