WTF? How hard is this? the provision still does not do what she or you claim. She lied. Read her selective quote, then read the provision in context. Then come back, take your balls out of your purse and apologize. Stop debating your straw man, and admit the provision has nothing to do with doctors being told what treatments to perform.

…Yet.

It has no practical purpose, otherwise. None.

Well, I suppose you at least admit that it’s not in the current provision… You’re arguing that it will “eventually” get there…This puts you above most of the jokers on this site.

and yet…

You lose, again.

I know this is the internet, but how old are you? 15? 16?

But alright, I’ll bite. How did he “lose”? He argued it wasn’t in the provision, you admitted as much but claim that there is a conspiracy of which this provision is the first step.
I serve to annoy.
If 100 meters cannot see the purpose of these provisions, their origins and intent, why should we engage him further? His loss.

As for my age, well this is the internet. I am old. I am impossibly old. I am old enough to have studied (academic credentials here) national health care plans since the great wave of them in 1972.
It may occur to you at this point that I must be senile, and I assure you that I am not. But I look on Daschle–and even Ms McCaughey–as newcomers to the issue. Imagine that you and 100meters are ingenues, no fault of your own.

Which introduces the next question: who, if not Mr Daschle, will be the ringleader of this circus?
In Obama’s circle there is one qualified man, an economist, who is not even noticed much and will never hold high office. Martin Feldstein: He will not be asked to consider this task, and it is a shame, because in 36 years, no one has written a better understanding of American health care economics than he.

You are already sold on the idea that every sentence of this bill is a hammer and sickle, so its pointless for you.
Why wouldn’t we think that? Do you have any knowledge at all about the beginnings of other gov’t programs? They have a long history of morphing into something much bigger. You could start with the farm bill, social security, and fema if you are interested. These are obvious examples.

This will be like any other gov’t regulation. Unelected bureaucrats will be given power of legislator, regulator, police, judge, and jury.

This is precisely why some are so adamant about small gov’t. It’s not because they couldn’t potentially do good or their intentions are not good. The problem is these programs almost always grow uncontrollably. You have to understand how these bureaucracies work, what motivates those within, and the opportunities for political favour they provide.

Your simple assumption is that government is always wrong and cannot do good. That’s fine. I disagree. I think government does have a role to play.
Then you are not thinking through this very well. Please compare to other gov’t agencies, regulation, or programs. If you think they will take some limited role in just making sure all information is available, you are not that bright. If you think they will be even remotely efficient at this, you are not that bright. If you think this will not cause more delay, injury, or death, you are not that bright.

Why? The actual provision is not largest danger here. The wording of provision is actually of little consequence other than being the beginning of a goat rodeo, buzzard fucking, boondoggle, or what ever term suits your fancy. PAY ATTENTION TO HISTORY!!!

You did notice the thread title and first post right? We’re talking real world here, not candyland.

Precisely. I am talking about what actually happens when bureaucracies like this are created. Sorry if I wasn’t clear there. Not sure where I could have made that more clear.
