Played a little bit of the campaign earlier - not sure what to make of the story as the first game that I played of the franchise was Halo 3 (so I’m not really clued in n all the backstory), but the gameplay, visuals, voice acting (for the most part) are sweeeeeeet.

this is game is really easy to pick up, and with everyone on an even playing field (no perks, weapon upgrades, or kill bonuses) you’ll find yourself getting kills right out of the starting gate. the only thing you have to worry about for now is everyone having a fresh start.
that means the five star generals are the same level as you for now.

About halfway through the campaign, Pretty damn sweet. I’m not in love with the armor extras, I haven’t used most of them, just the sprint one here and there, and obviously the jetpack is needed for parts of the campaign. The armor lockdown doesn’t seem all that great for campaign mode. Of course I’m just cruising through on Normal to get a feel for everything, so maybe it’s more useful on hard or legendary where the enemies are actually tough. Brings back some Halo combat evolved memories with the strafing elites. Fuck the brutes do it too! Missle pod warthog FTW!

First runthrough on Normal completed this morning. Went to take a shower when the credits started rolling and as I’m getting out of the Shower I hear the controller vibrating on the table. I run out to see me being killed in a bonus mission called lone wolf. No second chance, it just went to a cutscene where some female voice is telling me I belong to reach yadda yadda.
I’m assuming if I could have stayed alive and completed that last mission I would have gotten a different ending where I get off reach and, what? become mastur chief? I can’t wait till I can buy the mastur chief voice module and play campaign with that. It’s gonna be awsome.
Not sure whats next, prolly some Multi player, but I also want to go back in and beat it on hard soon. Also I blazed through pretty fast leaving most areas unexplored, so next time through I’ll prob take my sweet ass time and look for easters.
Graphics are nice, my aiming is suck, still haven’t used any of the armor bonuses cept run and necessary jetpack. Maybe the hologram will be cool in multi. BR and Needle carbine are still the best weapons. Shotty seems slower. You can’t shoot and then melee very fast and I kept geting killed trying to do that.
Here is my plan for a long weekend Halo splurge. (after I buy halo 2) Play reach, 1 and 2 then ODST then 3. Not sure when halo wars fits into the picture but I may throw that in also if it runs in the timeline somewhere.
As far as my review of the campaign. It’s nice. But it’s no where near as “epic” feeling as 3. I don’t know if anything can be. Again, it was only on normal, but there didn’t feel like a whole lot of “Boss” battles. Again, this may change on the harder difficulties, but even just on hard in Halo 3, a brute boss with the hammer would empty a full BR to take down. The last elite I fought in reach I was armed with no nades and a half plasma rifle and the AR. I never even got in trouble with him.

I’ve been hooked on this game all week. My girlfriend hates me and I lost 2 lbs. Last night my eyes burst and shot optical jelly all over the tv screen.
