Gyno symptoms 4 days after starting trt?

Hey,

So it’s been 8 weeks since I started TRT. I have some updates to share and questions to follow.

Current protocol: 112mg/wk injecting EOD
Latest bloodwork: 1/15/25
Testosterone: 1063
Estradiol: 44.7

The gyno symptoms and fluid retention seem to have gone away completely. No more burning nipples, no more painful lumps, and I haven’t taken anastrozole in about 4 weeks nor have I taken tamoxifen in about 1.5 weeks. I still have some asymmetry in my chest, but it’s less noticeable now that the fluid retention is gone. I think it’s likely something I’ve always had, but just never noticed before out of ignorance.

I’ve adjusted my diet and increased my exercise over this time. I’m maintaining a caloric deficit of around 500-900 calories per day and doing heavy cardio and strength training. Possibly overdoing it a bit, as I probably need a few more rest days. But sticking to this, I’ve lost 10 lbs in the last month and am experiencing noticeable body composition changes.

My energy is good as well. Only problem is sleep. I have some difficulty staying asleep most nights, probably due to my career. I wake up at 3am and struggle to fall back asleep. This tends to drag down my energy throughout the day, but no where near how it did pre trt. That’s just been an interesting thing to see. I’m working on the sleep thing as on days that I got a good night sleep, I feel invincible haha.

Overall, things have significantly improved. But a couple concerns:

My estradiol seems high. I’m not experiencing symptoms, but the number is in the high range. Is this a more common number on trt? Or is this something I should be addressing?

My glucose came back above normal, which was concerning. It’s 111 and in the pre diabetes range. My diet has been high protein, low carbs and sugar, so I’m not certain what might be causing this. Does trt impact glucose at all?
I did read that excess protein intake could convert to glucose as well as high cortisol levels from overtraining. I’m definitely doing both right now, but I also don’t want to write it off just yet. Any experience with high glucose on trt?

Thank you for all the help through everything. Much appreciated

Sounds like you are on the right track here.
Keep up on the weight training, cardio and diet. Just don’t overdo it.
Too much training and calorie restriction can lead to sleep disruptions.
I would presume the E2, glucose will come out in the wash over time.
Be consistent and don’t get lost in the minutia.

Its only high, because you think its high. but if It were high its only high because your Testosterone is high. These usually go hand in hand. You’re in a lot better spot now then where you were.
As your body fat goes down so will your E2

It’s not possible at this dose and at this stage of treatment, you’re literally four days in homie.

In my opinion, it’s causing more harm than good, and the same goes for the anastrozole.

There’s plenty of data showing that TRT can help with blood sugar management, and it’s doing wonders for men with type 2 diabetes (and possibly even type 1, if I remember correctly, though don’t quote me on that)

Another great thing about TRT is that it can (or rather, will) lower elevated cortisol levels—I managed to cut mine in half since starting TRT.

You need to give this some time—it can take a while for actual hormonal adaptations and benefits to kick in. While the pharmacokinetic effects might already be occurring, in my opinion, two doses of 50 mg is relatively low.

My advice: avoid the Reddit forums when it comes to TRT (if you’ve been browsing there).

Estrogen is essential and plays a key role in driving the benefits of TRT.

Facts.

Thank you for this. I appreciate your encouragement and insight. That seems like a good way to look at it. And you’re right, I’m in a way better place now

Haha, I definitely have browsed the Reddit forums and you’re 100% right. It’s full of people just looking to hate on others and free of facts. I’ve appreciated this community a lot. You all have been extremely supportive and helpful in navigating things. Thank you

For your protocol are you running IM, Shallow IM or SubQ for injections?

How’s your mental game been as well libido since you started?

Steroidplotter.com is such a good fucking tool.

I’m doing IM in the glute.

And things were definitely a roller coaster for the first 4-5 weeks. I had fluid retention in my chest which was causing my pecks to look like breasts. My nipples felt like they were sunburnt, and I was also dealing with mood swings and random bouts of what felt like depression. I was using anastrozole and tanking my estrogen. I know now that I was way overthinking everything and not allowing my body to settle in.

Now, 8 weeks in, I feel great. My mood is very even, my libido is stronger than before, and I have energy to actually live my life. Things I never had prior to starting trt. I’m very happy with where things are at and where they are going.

I’m currently on an every other day protocol which I began in an attempt to limit swings in my testosterone and estrogen. I’d say it worked, but it is a cumbersome protocol to say the least. I’m going to follow through with it for a bit longer to allow my body to really settle in before I try to move back to every 3 days or twice a week.

Overall though, I’m feeling great. I’m feeling healthy, strong, and happy. I’m also seeing physical changes, which is really cool too.

Can you explain how it works for me? What do you use it for?

How much was your surgery and did you have to pay it all up front? What state are u in?

Insurance covered it. Told docs it was painful. Paid nothing but my deductible. In NY
