Gunning for Mormons

I didn’t say scientists should make decisions for the Supreme Court.

I said that the Supreme Court should take into account the conclusions of science when determining the facts of a case.

How am I dodging the question on polygamy when I don’t know whether or not polygamy is inherently damaging?

I couldn’t be any clearer: if it is damaging, don’t support it but if it is not damaging why the hell would you get in the way?

Same with gay marriage.

Damaging is subjective. It is a relationship between consenting adults. Should the government disallow “damaging” relationships?

The are a lot of people in unhealthy relationships of all kinds. So, if someone isn’t good for you, the government shouldn’t allow you to get married?

I said “inherently damaging”, as in damaging by virtue of the type of relationship (straight, gay, polygamous).

Obviously any relationship can potentially be damaging, but I’m talking about damage that is endemic to the type itself.

So you are this intellectual powerhouse, this virtual Library of Congress, when it comes to homosexual marriage and its alleged healthiness but you are in kindergarten in regards to polygamy? You can offer no opinion except, “I dunno…duh…beats me, guys…shucks…sorry”?[/quote]

I’m guessing because he has a vested interest in homosexual relationships.

Since when does knowing something about homosexuality make me an expert in polygamy? WTF?

My personal opinion on polygamy is that it probably isn’t inherently damaging, but again I am not an expert and have read no research on this.
