This one was up this morning. I could swear it said they were both shot in the back:

This is the first thing that I read today and it saddens my soul. Chris was a very honorable, dedicated and patriotic man. Loved his country and especially his SEAL teams.

After recovering from a difficult start when first out out of the teams, we was contacted by and met with Kyle Bass of Hayman Capitals fame out of Dallas. Kyle’s original intent was to hire Chris as his personal security chief. He soon realized that their relation would benefit both more abundantly by becoming business partners.

Here is a statement from SOFREP, a news sit run by a close friend of Chris, former SEAL Brandon Webb.

I own and have read his book. A truly outstanding individual and noble warrior.

RIP
Yes, I am looking back through it again as I sit here.

BTW Push, I hardly ever venture out of PWI but just happened to do so yesterday and came accross a thread where you describe your son’s horrific accident. I am so sorry to hear about this. I hope he is making a speedy recover and know that he is in my prayers.

The shooting range is perhaps not the best place to treat mental illness. Very sad though.
I think that, given his background, Mr. Kyle would be much more qualified to make that decision than you or me.

I think I remember reading that range time is actually good therapy for PTSD because it restores positive association with loud noises.

Certainly possible. Would have been better for this particular guy to have been kept away from guns though.

So this is how you defend ignorantly posting a judgmental opinion about a patriotic soldier who was murdered while trying to help a fellow war veteran?

Some people…

What the fuck are you talking about?

“Very sad. People with mental illnesses maybe shouldn’t be around guns.”

Please spare me the fabricated outrage because nobody is being insulted by my post.

Maybe I could better honor his memory by claiming that his death was a big hoax, huh you fucking nitwit?

“The shooting range is perhaps not the best place to treat mental illness,”

You’re going to pretend that wasn’t a dig at Chris Kyle’s decision to take him to the gun range?

It was a pretty bad decision in retrospect. Doesn’t make it any less sad. But yeah, if you’d have asked me whether or not I thought shooting was a great way to relieve mental illness, I’d have said, “maybe, but crazy and guns don’t mix well.” And I guess I’d have been right, huh?

But you’re right, I should have just pretended to think that he faked his own death and that his mourning family members are hired actors. That would have been the not-asshole approach, right? That’s what a humane, compassionate soul would do. Silly me. I’ve always been a bit insensitive about tragedy, you know?

No it wasn’t, and I already told you why. Retrospect has never changed a damned thing in this world. All you can do is make the best decisions you know to make, and accept the fact that any one of us could drop dead at any time. For some people, living in seclusion because you’re too chicken-shit to get out there and try to be part of the solution is just simply not on the list of options.

Chris Kyle died doing the right thing.

Word, being skeptical of the efficacy of shooting-range therapy for mental illness is such a chickenshit move. I wish I were as intrepid and dashing as you and your buddies from UFO-sighting message boards. Because nothing says “manly” like a bunch of virgins speculating about alien contact over the internet.

Again, you’re a fucking Sandy Hook truther. I normally refrain from speaking like this to people on this site, but after the amount of time you’ve spent peddling unapologetic bullshit intended to insult the memory of dead children–children who were, unlike Chris Kyle, not even capable of having been complicit in creating the conditions under which they were slaughtered–I find it infuriating that you think it appropriate to latch onto a throwaway comment of mine which was attached to an expression of my sadness and feign moral outrage–because, you know, when a conservative dies it’s just not right to comment on the circumstances of his death, right? Unlike when kids die, in which case fuck it, who cares, why not accuse their parents of being fakers?

In other words, please fuck off.

Yes. He’s even more dedicated than before. He started a couple weeks out of the hospital back in Oct. He’s put on 5 lbs of muscle since then.
I only vaguely recall hearing about your kid’s situation, but good to hear he’s recovering well. All the best.

Glad he’s doing better, Push.

I just wish you had the mental capacity to understand what I’m trying to tell you.

But of course, instead of admitting that you were wrong about your knee-jerk judgement, you’d rather tell me to fuck off for pointing it out to you.

I go to the range with war vets. I grew up around war vets. I work with war vets. A lot of them have PTSD. I am not scared of them. As a matter of fact, I was raised by a Vietnam Vet with PTSD.

Your apparent opinion that vets with PTSD should all be feared as potential murderers is absolute bullshit.

If some shady information comes out about this incident, I’ll post it. If I find video of people joking around and then getting into character for the news camera, or practicing their lines on camera, or a connection linking the perp to something shady, I’ll seek the truth on this matter, as well.

Only a sick mind would take the idea of seeking the truth in all matters, give it the label “Truther”, and then use it as a derogatory term. You can brand me with whatever label you like, I will continue seeking the truth in all things.

You keep believing what you’re fed.

PTSD is not monolithic, but because it can be manifested in the form of homocidal psychosis, especially in conjunction with other mental disturbance, caution is a good thing.

Anyway, my real point is that you are literally the last person on this board who should be erecting de mortuis nihil nisi bonum banners. Let’s not hijack this any further.
