Great Rock 'n Roll Lines

Here’s a line that got me in BIG trouble with my mom when she heard it…

"I reach down…

between my legs…"

(My mom says “RUH-NEE!! That’s disgusting! Turn that off!”)

The song continues…

“…and ease the seat back”

(I don’t know the name of this one, either. Sorry.) Thanks SO much for the link to the other one! I haven’t heard that in ages.

Panama - one of Van Halen’s best.

Just thought of another one, The offspring~bad habbit

" Drivers are rude, such attitude, when I show my piece, complete, see somethings odd feel like a god
YOU STUPID,
DUMB SHIT
GOT DAMN
MOTHER FUCKER!"

Speaking of the Offspring:

When she’s saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she’s saying that I’m like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can stand

Yeah the ladies were too kind
You’ve been - thunderstruck, thunderstruck [/quote]

Perhaps Mr. Push and I are of the same generation. AC/DC were not known for great lyrics - but they got the point across.

Oh I beg to differ mate. AC/DC’s got tons of great lyrics. They’re not poetic or symbolic, but they’re as straight sex, drugs, and rock’n roll as it gets. Great rock lines, all of 'em.

If we’re in a thread called ‘Great Rock Lines’ then you gotta have AC/DC.

A rat runs down the alley
And a chill runs down your spine
And someone walks across your grave
And you wish the sun would shine
Cause no ones gonna warn you And no ones gonna yell attack
And you dont feel the steel Till its hangin` out your back!

Night Prowler

“How do you know where I’m at where you haven’t been where I’m at, understand where I’m comin’ from?”

Cypress Hill - “How I Could Just Kill a Man”

Yeah, it’s not rock. I know. I’ll come up with some good stuff.

OH!

“You know the good ol’ days weren’t always good and tomorrow ain’t as bad as it seems.”

Billy Joel - “Keeping the Faith”

Anything by dream theater really.

ex:The spirit carries on:

““Move on, be brave
Dont weep at my grave Because Im no longer here
But please never let
Your memories of me disappear””
enter sick guitar solo

Some metallica stuff. Iron maiden?

Suite sister mary from Queensryche (sp) is pretty fucking good too.

"
Mary, Mary just a whore for the underground
They made you pay in guilt for your salvation
Thought you had them fooled? Now they’ve sent me for you
You know too much for your own good
Don’t offer me faith, I’ve got all I need here
My faith is growing, growing tight against the seam
What we need is trust, to keep us both alive
Help us make it through the night"

Not rock and roll but from Pagliacci:

The video has subtitles and it’s just so fucking epic i gotta show it (ends at 5 minutes):

“And so, do not give thought to our poor theater costumes…but give thought to our hearts…for we too are men of flesh and blood. And, just like you, of this desolate world, it is the same air that we breathe”

My favorite part of that song is:

Pauly caught a bullet
But it only hit his leg
Well it should have been a better shot
and got him in the head

Makes me laugh every time I hear it.

As he spreads his wings
and shouts at the crowd,
“In the name of God, my father, I will fly”

-Flight of Icarus
Iron Maiden

Well I make a pussy purr
With the stroke of my hand.
They know they’re gettin’ it from me.
And they know just where to go
When they need their lovin’ man.
They know I’m doin’ it for free.

My father was a gambler down in Georgia,
and he wound up on the wrong end of the gun.
And I was born in the back seat of a
Greyhound bus,
rollin down highway 41

Ramblin Man, Allman Brothers.

Just as every cop is a criminal,
and all the sinners saints,
as heads is tails, just call me Lucifer
Cause I’m in need of some restraint.

Sympathy for the devil, Rolling Stones

Days turn to minutes
And minutes to memories
Life sweeps away the dreams
That we have planned
You are young and you are the future
So suck it up and tough it out
And be the best you can

Minutes to Memories, John Mellencamp. ( a damn good song)

Name that tune. No google.

Well I get so lonely when I am without you
But in my mind, deep in my mind,
I can’t forget about you
Good times, and faces that remind me
I’m tryin to forget your name and leave it all behind me
You’re comin back to find me

Hint: In 1978 I plagiarized this song and turned it in to my 12th grade English Lit teacher as MY poem. I got an A-.

Long Time, Boston

More than one line but this song by David Crosby has to be mentioned…

Laughing

I thought I met a man
Who said he knew a man
Who knew what was going on

I was mistaken
Only another stranger
That I knew

And I thought I had found a light
To guide me through
My night and all this darkness

I was mistaken
Only reflections of a shadow
That I saw

And I thought I’d seen someone
Who seemed at last
To know the truth

I was mistaken
Only a child laughing
In the sun

Hey Joe, where you goin’ with that gun in your hand
Hey Joe, I said where you goin’ with that gun in your hand

I’m going down to shoot my old lady
You know, I’ve caught her messin’ around with another man
I’m going down to shoot my old lady
You know, I’ve caught her messin’ around with another man
And that ain’t too cool

Hey Joe, I’ve heard you shot your woman down,
shot her down, now
I said I’ve heard you shot your old lady down,
You shot her down to the ground

Yes I did, I shot her
You know, I caught her messin’ round, messin’ round town
Yes I did, I shot her
You know, I caught my old lady messin’ around town
And I gave her the gun
I SHOT HER!

Hendrix

Won’t you look down upon me, Jesus
You’ve got to help me make a stand
You’ve just got to see me through another day
My body’s aching and my time is at hand
And I won’t make it any other way

Oh, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I’ve seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you again

James Taylor

I caught you knockin’
at my cellar door
I love you, baby,
can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.

I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.

I sing the song
because I love the man
I know that some
of you don’t understand
Milk-blood
to keep from running out.

I’ve seen the needle
and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie’s
like a settin’ sun.

Neil Young
