To tired to read through the thread to see if this was covered, but here’s a hint: Probable cause can be based on a confidential informant’s statement. Why not have a neighbor/friend place an anonymous call to the cops and say they saw that dude carrying a computer and other items into his house on the afternoon you were robbed. Cop puts that shit in his warrant affidavit and you’ve given them probable cause to search the guys’ house. They find your shit, the guy does hard time and you get it back; they don’t and he won’t.
