Gore's Inconvenient Electric Bill

Because it causes kids to have asthma.
Because it strains the whole ecosystem.
Because it kills puppies.
Because it is disgusting.
Because our planet isn’t an infinite bin.
Because people know it’s gonna get worse.

And…because you didn’t even try to.

Because we drink it.
Because we eat it.
Because it gives us health problems like CANCER.
Because it smells like shit.

Pete is right about restrictions being lifted. All one of you “right” ballers have to do is come to Southern WV, and in the '90’s, you could actually breathe.

I came back here for college, and I have to hold my shirt over my nose and mouth to filter the dust from the mines and trucks. Yeah, WV is the asshole of the states, but this is a proud place. And did anyone notice the mines fatallities last year? It was a direct result of the Bush peeps lifting restrictions from safety checks in mines, if they wouldn’t have lifted the tight safety standards, there may be some hard working, Bush voters alive today. And trust me, my family are coal miners, and the UMWA no longer exists, and also the owners told the workers, “If you vote democrat, you are voting yourself out of a job.” So they did, and they died.

It’s all about production, fuck, I want to cry when I go to the top of a mountain that used to be full of ontouched timber, full and beautiful, now it looks like the to of Limbaugh’s head: bald and ugly.

Ummm… there is something of a non sequitur in the logic here. Having a high electric bill doesn’t necessarily mean the energy being used is pollutant energy.

In fact, “clean” energy tends to be a bit more expensive to get, which would be why we don’t all switch to it instantly. Thus, i would expect someone living off primarily clean energy to have these high electric bills.

This article isn’t making a very valid assertion. If it wants to claim Gore is being a hypocrite, it needs better evidence. As it is right now, its merely inconclusive.

There is a very limited amount of “clean” electricity. He is using more than his share forcing others to use “dirty” electricity.

Gore’s energy bill is irrelevant. The idea behind Gore’s message is reducing your ‘carbon footprint’, not reducing your electric bill. Part of Gore’s message is that if a person has highly polluting activities or lifestyle, they can take other positive steps to compensate. It’s about a cumulative approach to reducing energy waste and pollution. It’s not about petty Gotcha type nagging, like what we see here. Gore presumably makes up for his energy consumption by investing in green technology, or hundreds of other ways.

Pretty superficial attack on Gore that shows ignorance on what his message actually is.

Wrong. There is a very limited amount of carbon neutral energy. Gore uses far more than his share forcing others to use carbon emitting energy sources.

We all understand his message. It is pretty fucking simple. It is also pretty obvious his excess energy use leads to more CO2 emissions.

Apparently he neutralizes his CO2 emmissions by having trees planted or something like that.

That would be good enough for me.

I think he just has 3 children killed a year so he gets to emit their lifetime share.

I eat 2 cows and 3 pigs a year.

That should be worth a trip to Vegas?
