GOP Platform: A Better Way

Trump’s commitment to picking a certain kind of justice or judge is about as solid as Trump’s commitment to minimum wage and abortion.

Given how he views the law and his propensity for frivolous lawsuits, Trump is likely to just pick the ambulance chaser on the back of the phone book.

Actually, in all seriousness, I bet Trump’s first choice for a first vacancy would his top lawyer (Michael Cohen), creating a situation very much like Bush and Harriet Meier a few years ago. Trump wants to place loyal cronies he can trust, and the judiciary would be no different.

Are you even allowed by law to be on the SC if you didnt graduate Harvard or Yale Law?

Harvard and Princeton seem to be pretty popular with our current court. But I would take a conservative out of a State School over a couple of those left wing clowns.

Heh. It seems that way. What’s needed is a justice with more of a practical background, in my view. Somebody with more of a background in business.

People get incredibly fixated on the social issues that come before the court, but that’s such a small fraction of the cases SCOTUS decides.

Do you mean a JD with a background practicing business law?

Yes.
