Good TRT Doc in GA?

I think you can get a protocol similar to that explained here at both places. I have seen both and must say I prefer Dr Smith. Agewell is a chop shop in my opinion get in and get out. They will send you home with a week or two worth of stuff then you have to come back. I think their program was nearly $300 a month. Dr Smith will do an intial assesment and labs unless you have recent labs to bring with you. In my case I took all my labs, she did her work up ran T, E2 , PSA and DHEA as they were a few month old. Sent me away with a rx . They faxed the RX to P3 Compounding Pharmacy in ATL.

Had my stuff the next day delivered. I will follow up at the end of the month for more labs then evry 6 months. They also do phone consults. The drawback is she does not accept Insurance of any kind and require payment at time of service. They will give you all the paper work to submit to your insurance for reimbursement depending on your policy. I suggest call ahead to get a ball park price before you go in. I have not seen the cost for the drugs yet so that my be a limiting factor. According to Dr Smith I pay pharmacy but they have not sent me an invoice so not sure what drugs will cost. Maybe somebody else can comment on P3 prices. Perhaps Gold_Dog can chime in.

I wanted to add my experience to this thread. I have not yet found the ideal “protocol friendly” (t/hcg/ai) doc but have a good option for Cypionate self-inject. Dr. Robert Di Meglio at Georgia Urology was very sympathetic to my needs for T. I brought lots of recent labs (mostly self-ordered at AnyLabtest) as well as a spreadsheet summary. He saw very quickly "so it looks like IM testosterone works well for you- how did you feel when you were here in the 700-800 TT range? ( pointing to my spreadsheet). I said I felt great, but that my GP refused to self inject because of [same ignorant drivel you all know by now]. He said “we’re trying to get people to do it themselves these days anyway. Let’s get you a script”. The script was for compounded 250mg/ml at their own compounding pharmacy ($170 for 10ml) I requested manufactured instead because my insurance covers it. So 10ml of 200mg/ml with 3 refills is what I got and “as directed.” he suggested follow up labs in a month or two. Out of pocket for office visit + 10ml was $45.

So if you’re looking for that first script, he’s a really nice guy and totally covered by my Humana insurance.

As for AI i approached that on the second visit, and he was more interested in cutting my T dose to get my FT within range than prescribe an AI. But he did say we could, he just preferred to not add more meds if we could avoid it.

I know this post is a few years old. Would it possible to give a ballpark figure as to the monthly cost of Rx’s. I have an apt with dr smith tomorrow.

Thanks
